  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

We have owned scouts with cut-up fenders and 37's, restored ones with 35's, and my dad currently has a two-door bronco sasquatch with 35's. Likes: - Large tires, I think 33's need to be standard with an option for 35's. I do not care about the decrease in range. - The new bronco has the carpet...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

For the SUV, I think it is imperative the rear lower quarter-panel needs to have the correct angle. That is a classic Scout II design, with the upward sweeping rear panel. Similarly, the angle of the top needs to be accurate, with a strong line toward the front of the vehicle. It looks like both...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I understand you are probably referring to the touch screens and super high-tech stuff on modern electric vehicles, but one cool piece of technology that I have not seen would be a built-in CB radio. I am envisioning just a small nob with the channel display in the middle of the nob, and you can...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I would like to see less screens in the new scout than in some new modern cars. The 2024 mustang has too much screen. A simple 10-12 inch center screen, with digital gauges would be enough. The original scout was never anything fancy, and I think this would...

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

The more the merrier. The original Scouts were extremely customizable from the factory and aftermarket. Adding winches, front bumpers, rear bumpers, tire-carriers, fender flares, etc. would be cool, although it would be cooler if those were base options. Also seeing packages that are similar to...

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

As an owner of a father/son self-restored 79 scout II in high school, and the son of a dad who was former president of the local Scout club and has owned 9+ Scouts himself, here are my top 5 "accessories" for the new scout: 1 - Although not necessarily an accessory, front and rear lockers are a...
