  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Bed Area

Yes I love the bumper mounted swing outs.

Scout Motors - who are your competitors?

I am responding to this for two reasons: It is talking about the younger demographic, and scout competitors. I just turned 25 this month, but I have owned a scout and grew up in the back of many of my dad's. Scouts literally were my childhood, it was my dad's only hobby to wheel these things all...

    Interior Feature Focus

I think no carpet should be the base (rubberized floors) with carpet as an option. Having rubberized floors is great for offroaders, hunters, people with messy kids, and so on. But carpets definitely present a luxury feel and sound reduction, which should be an upgrade for those that want the...

    Interior Feature Focus

I would also like to see the wood-grain dash option like on the original scout IIs. My 79 had this dash, and having one one as an option on the new scout would be awesome. Rivian does a good job with their wood grain dash. I have attached an original scout wood-grain dash and a Rivian's.

    Publication Renders

I just hope it does not turn into a Bronco Sport, Grand Cherokee, cherokee, blazer etc. with that small size and ground clearance, although I agree I like the boxiness of that one. I like the large size of the other two, making it compete more with the likes of a Hummer EV, Bronco Sasquatch...

    Publication Renders

It looks like some publications (car and driver, motor1, etc.) have been doing their own renderings based on the side profile released by Scout Motors. I like some things about them, and I do not like others. I was just checking in on everyone's opinion. Obviously these are not official SM...

    Do you enjoy going topless

I was just watching a Hummer EV review to see what they did wrong/right to make suggestions on this forum. One thing the reviewer did not like is the removable roof panels did not have rain gutters. It was raining during their review, and with the top on and the windows down, water was dripping...

LED Lighting for the New Scout EV Vehicle

Not only is getting the headlights important, but I would also like to see rectangular, orange blinker indicators just below the headlights, like originals. Same with true side-marker lights. I like what J Alynn said about making them warm/cool adjustable. That would look so cool to be standing...

Items Bronco owners wish they had

I am sure some of these things were included in that other forum. My dad is a long-time multi-scout owner, currently owns a 2-door bronco sasquatch. And I have a friend with a 4-door bronco base model, who does not know much about scouts. I have talked with both of them and here is what I have...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I like that idea better as well, having them not linked to certain modes. Mostly I just want to see that retro option.

    Bed Area

I was just looking through the suggestions and did not see anything for the bed area behind the rear seat for the scout. I have a buddy who has a new bronco and I was talking with him this weekend about the forum, and how I saw Harris005 had started the debate on a drop-down tailgate or a...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Another tech-piece I think would be cool is a digital gauge cluster that looks like the old Scout II speedometer. I am taking a page from the Ford book with their new Mustang Dark Horse on this one. The Dark horse has a digital gauge cluster on a monitor in front of the driver that you can...

    American Made

This is incredible news and I cannot wait to get my hands on one of these. Thank you so much!

    American Made

For sure. I just hope they take design cues from the Ford bronco and they are proud to be independent and American, and do not hesitate to do so because their parent company is not. I hope they respect more IH heritage than VW.

    American Made

Back when the news was first announced that VW would be producing a new scout I was uninterested because it was not going to be an IH product. A bit about me: I have owned a 79 scout II, which my dad and I restored in high school. My dad has owned 9+ scouts since I have been alive (I am 25). I...

Scout Motors Appoints Chief Design Officer

I hope it has far more ground clearance than the Jeep Recon.

    Trim Levels

This is a really good point. I think that by doing it this way it makes it so your Rallye scout is unique to you, and not just like every other Rallye on the road.

If you do a rugged and capable EV with a true AMERICAN style, do it right...

The bronco sasquatch comparison, and the additional cooling for rock climbs are great points.

    Trim Levels

I think it is imperative to discuss trim levels for the new scout. As I read through this forum I see three kinds of people (mostly). - The person who will never take this off-road, but appreciates the heritage of the vehicle and the idea of saving the environment with an EV - The person who...

    Order reservations

While this would be nice, I currently do not own a scout. But I restored one and owned one for four years in high school. My dad has owned 9+ since I was a kid. He was the former president of the local Scout club. I go to the IH meet every year. I am just 25 and starting a family and cannot find...
