  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    leasing

companies like Genesis are using leases for EV’s because it’s a loophole that allow you to get the $7500 when the vehicle doesn’t qualify for it. Leases are a reasonable option with EV’s since resale values of EV’s are rather unpredictable right now.

I’ll take one. How about running boards?

I’m guessing I’ll go over the speed limit.

Scout Motors - who are your competitors?

This is clearly the competition, along with one of the Rivian (1 or 2). As for nostalgia, you certainly don’t need to have owned a Scout to feel nostalgic about it. Heck, just seeing the speedometer will make many feel nostalgic.

Charge port at front, passenger side

I don’t know that many people have garage chargers based on their Tesla. My charger location was decided by where the outlet was. Many people have their charger outside. Most home chargers come with long cables.

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

Do you think Scout’s prices are in today’s dollars or assuming 10% higher from 3-5 years of inflation?

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

I just want to know if we can continue to talk about the Scout for the next 4-5 years until we actually get to drive it?

    Switches and Knobs?

I hope they make the labels for the switches easy to read. I love my current Toyota Tundra, but the toggle switches are black, surrounded by black with small labels that are challenging to see.

    Instrument Cluster

I’m gonna have to disagree here. That would take away from the retro vibe. All the numbers should be larger but not change.

    360 camera

This one is deal breaker for me. Totally addicted to 360 cameras. But maybe that’s just with a full size truck.

    Ideas for Scout Engineers

Nice to see you guys using “green” check marks because this says “money, money, money.” Sounds like all the bells and whistles my $80k non EV truck has. Maybe we should make a list of all the things we can do without to lower the price?

Future Model: Scout Sport- Smaller, and more efficient, but still capable.

An SUV under 180” is either a compact or subcompact by almost anybody’s standards. And those are very popular today. Although most compacts stretch to 182-185. Certainly most manufacturers have offer compact and standard sizes. Did the old Scouts have much rear seat legroom? Where did they save...

Rivian will be using batteries made in an LG plant being built in Arizona.

Putting a tree on top is an old tradition of builders when the building’s skeleton is completed.

Future Model: Scout Sport- Smaller, and more efficient, but still capable.

Is there some advantage to only two doors? Certainly can make a smaller 4 door?

    Success

People may be concerned about range of EV’s and lack of charging stations, but the long term future is electric.

    Rethink Steering Wheel Design?

Seeing it in person carries a lot of weight.

    Rethink Steering Wheel Design?

Design is subjective. So is function, but less so. I think round is more functional.

1,000+ reservations take rate stats: Harvester vs. Full-EV and Traveler vs. Terra

C’mon, what’s not to love about a place who’s only interested in taking as much of your money as possible?

    Switches and Knobs?

So I’m guessing you’re joking, but that might be a fun place to put a start button.
