  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    EV focused suggestions

The Apple Watch implementation works alongside other systems. So there would be no need for anyone to buy a watch to unlock their car. Adding this integration would be a really big added convenience for those that wear the watch and added security for those looking for that. Being able to send...

    EV focused suggestions

What we really need is ‘redundancy’ so if a primary system is unable to work a backup system will. That could be a mechanical key or it could be something else. I like the idea of a mechanical key being kept in a small multi-tool. What I’d love is for my watch to unlock the car - that’s a...

    What If?

This is nice to have but I would challenge vehicle engineers - why should you have to plug your 110V device in via the car’s charging connector, why not just have a few 110V outlets around the vehicle that can be used while the car is charging or while it is moving? The inverters I’ve used are...

    What If?

I’d like to see a kitchen add-on for those that would use it. Personally, I’ wouldn’t opt for it. When we camp I cook over an open fire. I’m often in places where there are bear and no food can be left in the vehicle, it all has to go in the bear locker. Even the slightest hint of food will...

    What If?

I’d really like it if it was easy to copy recorded multi-camera footage from the camera system. I’d like to see an SD card in the dash or an easy way to upload recent footage to a connected phone (or more likely through a connected phone to whatever cloud storage the user prefers). Sharing...

    What If?

I believe something very similar to MagSafe is going to be a new standard. Apple contributed their proprietary tech to the standards body. I love things that attach magnetically where appropriate and MagSafe as a mounting attachment is great. However, I do prefer wired charging in the car...

    Buttons vs screens

That’s great to hear! I’ll just quote a bit I really like from the Techcrunch interview with Keogh. This sounds like exactly the right direction to me.

    Buttons vs screens

Since Scout are building a rugged utility vehicle it should be built for rugged activities. It should be expected that the driver might be wearing gloves. For example, a scenario where a farmer is driving around his property and frequently hopping out to do some task. All of the controls for...

    Buttons vs screens

I can honestly say I often adjust temperature, fan speed and vent source without taking my eyes off the road. However, I’m not arguing that everything should be operated blindly only that it could be operated blindly. It is better when there is multi-sensory feedback, touch, sight and sound. If...

    Buttons vs screens

Please, nothing on the touch screen except 1) rarely used settings normally changed when the vehicle is parked 2) navigation/entertainment with CarPlay option 3) Camera feeds or other realtime data feeds Everything that changes a function in the vehicle whilst driving including AC, temp, fans...

    What If?

This is correct. Even if these turbines only opened when you brake and acted as assisting air brakes they would only be capturing the same energy that would otherwise be captured by standard regenerative braking systems. They would also be very inefficient at this. Since standard regenerative...

    Removable top is a must

It would be interesting to see statistics that break it down. I think it is best to give the driver various roof options that include a full top down experience and let them choose and manage the range impacts accordingly. A Bronco hardtop comes off in sections - it’s not all or nothing. The...

    Removable top is a must

It seems to me that much of the industry has lost sight of what’s meant by the word “Utility” in SUV. The only way to get significant market share in the rugged vehicle segment is to take sales away from Bronco and Jeep and that will only happen if you offer more utility and capability. That...

    Removable top is a must

This is little more than an over-engineered sun roof. Being open only for people in the front seats is kind of sad for people sitting in the back. I’d like to see various roof options, canvas, mesh and removable hardtop. The Hardtop need to be compatible with a roof mounted rack. I’d like to...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Thanks for the clarification. Here’s an overlay of one of the teaser images with a Bronco Sasquatch for comparison. Assuming the wheels on the teaser image are not larger than those on the Bronco Sasquatch the wheel base is quite a bit shorter and overall length is also a bit shorter. I guess...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I admitted that I am making some assumptions, I also detailed them and I don’t intend to be dogmatic. It’s very easy for us to project our own wishes onto what we think Scout are working on. I’m trying to avoid that. Scout have said they are working on a “small” SUV. I’m just pointing out that...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

The Rivian 1RS is 200.8 in long without a spare tire The Bronco 4 door is 189.4 in long with the spare tire I measured the teaser images with a pair of calipers to study ratios. Tire size vs length, width vs height, tire size vs width etc. I make just two assumptions, 1) the wheels are not...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

The Scout the SUV is small. Based on the renders it is about 3 feet shorter than a Rivian RS1 with very little overhang behind the rear wheels. Rivian are using the overhang space and also have a compact spare. I don’t see how there could possibly be space in the Scout even with a compact. Also...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

The 360 degree camera system in the Defender looks like it would occasionally be useful for off road. You can see precisely where all your wheels are with respect to obstacles. This would be a nice option. But this type of technology can raise prices a lot for something that might only is useful...

    Scout Design Team Feedback V1

I might be a bit late on this thread. 1) The new CarPlay that Apple previewed 2) Physical tactile switches for every function of car (touchscreen only for data feeds/CarPlay/navigation/rarely used settings) 3) removable roof/doors. Removable top compatible with roof rack (like Bronco) 4)...
