  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

White and black top options for Traveler and Terra?

I think you got all the plaid you’re going to get. I think It’s in some rubber surfaces and the seat perforations.

    Audio system

Klipsch is a great American brand with a long and storied history. They also partner with car manufacturers to deliver excellent in-car audio. I think they’d be a great partner because they where making iconic speakers while IH where making iconic Scouts.

    Gas Powered Range Extender

I think several of the assumptions made in that video may be wrong. The Battery only version has 350 miles range. The Harvester version has a total of 500+ miles but how much smaller is the battery? The Scout website says you can “go a couple hundred more” using the extender than with just...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

They announced “heated and vented” seats on slide at the event.
  5. Chaparral

    Gas Powered Range Extender

The battery will be a bit smaller in the Harvester - that’s a weight saving. The generator is probably small. I don’t expect the Harvester to be any heavier than the full size battery version.. Someone at the event said someone from Scout indicated the Harvester version will be cheaper to...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

CarPlay (with option for the new CarPlay) and Android Auto support. These phone integrations give users choice and support thousands of apps some of which are made by individuals and small teams. Scout says that “community” is important. Supporting CarPlay means supporting small app development...

    Dimensions

Good point. Since there is some perspective the front view drawing should make the roof appear relatively low vs the width because the front of the vehicle is closer and the roof a bit further back. That means my earlier measurements and calculation of an 86.0 in width (based on the height to...
  8. Chaparral

    Dimensions

I don’t think the width value is correct. I measured the height and width of the vehicle drawing precisely with calipers and found the width is 1.127 times the height. If the height measurement is correct at 76.3 the width is actually about 86.0 in (with mirrors because they do not project)...

List Your 10 Favorite Things About the New Scouts

My 10 Favorite Things 1) the Harvester - give me a smaller battery and the peace of mind and extra utility of a gas generator I'll really need a few times a year. 2) the tie-down anchors on the hood 3) the frunk slide out seat that that reveals a storage compartment below 4) real leather 5)...

New Scout Trucks To Be Revealed October 24, 2024

There was some concern expressed that the silhouette looks like a minivan. The overlay image demonstrates that it’s the silhouette of a proper off-roader. Given the prior comments, one or two people might find it clarifying to see that it is not the silhouette of a minivan.

I think the silhouette looks really promising. I’m certain the comments about it looking like the Ford Explorer or Rivan R1 are way off. I’m very confident!

Scout Motors - who are your competitors?

It’s only possible for a person to feel nostalgic if they personally experienced something before because nostalgia involves re-living memories. Only a small percentage of new car buyers are likely to have owned a Scout or have a family member that owned one. A much larger percentage will...

Scout Motors - who are your competitors?

The modularity and customizability that Scout say they are building into the new vehicles should make this vehicle appeal to the serious off-road crowd that are currently busy switching bumpers on their Wranglers and Broncos. These people might not be thinking about buying EV’s today, but they...

I can’t wait for this. I’m so glad the vehicles are going to be outside in a natural environment. I can’t wait to see it all come together. Hopefully a refreshing opposite to the fake product event Tesla just did where they had people speaking through mics to trick people into thinking the...

In the blog post interviewing the design team one of the designers said they are making “a blank canvas” to which all sorts of extras and customizations could be added. I’m hoping the “blank canvas” starts at a very low price so most people can get in on it. If there are lots of extra options...
