  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Agreed this is probably a render but I have seen one other hint. So I'm with @THil08 on this one. Could be the Spirit of 76. That would make the primary color white. https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/scout-concepts-in-scottsdale-arizona-april-25-2026.7565/post-78805

    FB find of the day

Wow. Love that Scout and especially the color. My 79 Scout color was called Persimmon before I painted it to match my boat It was more orange than the one above I would love to get it restored maybe to Tahitian Red or similar to the one above. I wish I still had the time, place and energy to...

Then if you can make room for the tank, I would go this route without hesitating. I believe the efficiency would even be better than a natural gas tankless. We are empty-nesters so hot water demand is low, but when we have guests I'll sometimes switch to "High Demand" mode just in case. This...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I highly recommend a hybrid water heater. I have an unconditioned basement and during the humid Summer it keeps the large basement moderately cool. It would work the same for an enclosed garage. They are not cheap but I found that it reduced my power bill significantly. It has different energy...

Will a flip phone be good enough?? :ROFLMAO: I will only have my cellphone. I would REALLY like to take my drone, but surely that would be prohibited. It would probably be better to ask Scout Motors to give us a "fly over" in one of their monthly updates.

I like the information your Emporia gives. If you had a time of day utility rate, would you be able to input that?

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I've only had my BEV for about a month. So, for what it's worth, here's my rough estimate for that month. 600 miles / month (local driving mostly < 55 mph) 3 miles / kwh ==> .33 kwh / mile $0.13 / kwh (utility rate) 90 percent charging efficiency (assumption) ==> 1.11 correction factor...

That explains a lot. Thanks! In that case, it would seem that front passenger would be better if the cable could reach the front. That would allow for diagonal curbside parking hookup as well. That would also be better for those towing trailers. Of course, I might not have considered some other...

    FB find of the day

Maybe we'll get to post some spoilers from Columbia, Irmo, Blythewood this weekend before the Scottsdale event. As I understand it, the Traveler is getting some upgrades, but has there been mention of upgrades to the Terra soon?
