  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

It is unfortunate the visceral reaction a small group of people have to EVs. Keying, aggressive maneuvers or confrontations with their drivers is an unacceptable. Sorry to hear both of you have experienced this.

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

@SpaceEVDriver appreciate all the graphs and math. Our goal is to pickup our Scout at the factory. Valuable information for our first road trip! The EA vs T-Charger max flow on the Lightning is interesting. I have read some challenges at EA stations. What is your experience?

    Accessories Poll For Scouts

With all the Scout news I am consuming the Grenadier appeared in my newsfeed. It has a red chassis as an option. @Jamie@ScoutMotors Harvester red would be a great option.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This is the reason my millennia kid purchased a Ford. Legacy automakers will never compete with Apple or Google on apps and services.

Post-Reveal Scout Terra & Traveler on Tour?

@Jamie@ScoutMotors if you can also keep us informed of speaking engagements as well. I watched Wassym Bensaid speech at Disrupt 2024. Like many others I want to see/hear it all.

    Basic or All Decked Out?

I started with a 1987 F150 which was stick. Loved that truck. When I traded it in I got 2006 Ram 2500 crew cab 2500 Laramie with 8 foot bed. It’s a beast all my friends made fun of me it had leather, heated seats and 8 foot bed. I still own this truck (got a super deal on it). I have no...

Exciting to see the progress. It would be great to see drone footage of the progress on a monthly basis.

Exactly, Chris Benjamin and his team’s design language needs to carry through on the accessories.

    Confirmed….Scout using Rivian’s software…

Well said. My only addition is a strong Quality Assurance (QA) team with a mission to break the code before it is released. A bank of automated test case plus new ones to test new capabilities. VW was smart to partner with Rivian to solve this problem. Agree Scout needs to focus on the cool...

    Camper Shell

We need a color matching “adventure” cap and camping top. My wish list would also allow the rear window to be dropped for easy access to both cabins. I do not want a run of mill cap to ruin the fantastic job of the design team.

I get your point. I move to Florida 4 years ago and cooled seats were wonderful in my last rental.

List Your 10 Favorite Things About the New Scouts

    1) Built in America 2) 80% self-serviceability with Factory accessories (@Jamie@ScoutMotors love thread on this to hear what you guys are dreaming up) 3) Faithful modern Scout linage (no jellybean styling inside or out) 4) Old school: Body on frame, Lockers, Sway Bar disconnect 5) Bidirectional...

Interesting article about the engineering underneath the new Scouts

My OCD will consume every breadcrumb for the next couple of years. I just preorder this morning and spent my whole day reviewing the threads for every little detail while attending yet another meeting.

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

I will retired by then. This would make an Epic road trip!

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

I just ordered the Traveler during my morning coffee break. Both vehicles are home runs for an old guy like me. Real buttons, body-on-frame, American sized/built SUV. Not a wannabe crossover jellybean.
