  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Autoevolution Article

It's amazing to me that no one seems to be getting the memo that Scout Motors is an independent company and not VW @Jamie@ScoutMotors maybe some SM swag will sort that out!!! ?

    Fuel option/crucial to success

It's somewhat early to predict what 2026/2027 will look like. However, I agree, there has been a lot in the news lately about sagging EV sales in the face of interest rates and dropping gas prices. While I would love a dual-drive vehicle I think the proverbial die has been cast at this point.

    No Spare Tire on Tailgate!

I've never seen a locking seatriser/pedestal before. That is really, really cool.

    No Spare Tire on Tailgate!

Very much agree with the full size spare under the cargo area. I can't imagine why the frunk would be needed given that you're getting rid of the exhaust system and gas tank. With that being said, I don't know how much space batteries the would take up. For those wanting to run larger...

    Scout Design Ideas

I completely, completely agree and have also commented about that on this forum. Just keep it simple and classy.

Scout Should Offer a Conventional Hybrid Motor Option

As usual, well stated, J Alynn. As we've discussed previously, the Scout will be far from a pure offroad vehicle. I imagine it will come close to the Bronco and will be quite capable but will not be the offroad fantasy some believe/hope it will be. It sure ain't gonna be a 2-door either and...

    Function over form

While I cannot stand how Toyotas drive, and would never buy one, I do think they did a terrific job with the styling of this truck. They nailed the retro look.

Really, really creative idea. I love it.

Instead of separate box for pickup

Where are you getting your sales data? I have only seen the sales figures split by Bronco and Bronco Sport. A direct quote from Forbes, "Most shoppers (over 70 percent, according to Ford) have been choosing the 4-door"

    Battery Range Solution

Adding back to this thread.... I saw this article on battery swapping. While obviously smaller in scale it's real https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/04/africa/spiro-battery-swap-africa-electric-bikes-spc-intl/index.html

Cargo Space - lessons learned by way of VW Atlas

I was on a camping trip with another family over labor day weekend and our friends had a VW Atlas. When time came to load up I was astonished (and that is an understatement) at how much more room that vehicle had than my Grand Cherokee, or any other SUV I've seen in the midsize class for that...

    2 Door

@sambown - i like how you're thinking about this. although, like most SUVs these days, I assume Scout Motors will have to offer (in the future) some form of larger offering. BMW, Jeep, etc are all offering an extended size vehicle that's larger than their standard SUV but smaller than these...

    Factory Upgrades

There was a thread earlier on that discussed what people would expect as standard options. There seem to be many items on this list that people felt should be cost-free options (heated accessories, roof racks, tow options, etc.). If memory serves, there were a lot of people that were fairly...

    No Spare Tire on Tailgate!

This goes beyond just bikes. In a new thread others are commenting on the ability to carry plywood, as an example. I haul large items all the time and love the fact that I can do so with my Grand Cherokee. Even having a swing up door sucks but I can still make it work. A roof doesn't always work...

    Bed Area

I think you are spot-on. I have been whining about not having a tire on the gate since I joined this forum. I thought EVs are supposed to save a ton of space compared to ICE vehicles? I am sure Scout Motors can figure out a solution that works.

    No Spare Tire on Tailgate!

There was general consensus, driven from a survey on this site, quite a while back where the majority agreed that not having a tire on the tailgate was preferable as it drove ease of use for many different reasons. For me, personally, it was for bike transport. I was providing a real life...
