  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Captain Chairs

A removeable 20% could be interesting. Especially if that 20% could be moved and stored in the frunk (or the garage when you're sure you won't need it). The Honda pilot has something similar actually.

    Legroom

Thats what I'm hoping for! Although my response to the OP was a bit tongue in cheek, I am quite interested to see what all of the final specifications/measurements turn out to be. But it does look promising. Like I said, its in a bit of a unique spot, dimensions wise.

    Legroom

I also am interested in legroom. And hip room. Oh, and cargo room. All the interior measurements really. IMO the Traveler is potentially in a really interesting spot. Its short in length (vaguely similar to the Toyota Highlander/4 door Bronco), but comparatively wide in body (basically full...

    FB find of the day

Sorry, I'm good at opinions :). Maybe I just need to say them quieter :P.

    FB find of the day

Uh.. As much as I like Scout, and the Traveler. This... is IMO, a miss on the marketing front. People buy vans because they fit people. Minivans fit ~7-8 people, and usually 6 people in comfort. Full size vans even more. The Scouts will fit 5-6 people, but typically the front middle position...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

What if the gift, is actually just some magnetic vinyl stickers, and no instructions. And they ship more of them to you over time. And, the stickers are actually just a private URL to the configurator, and its like, a puzzle that is supposed to take us 2yrs to complete, because its a...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

I don’t know. I’m thinking it’s still pretty early to be receiving any Christmas gifts from Scout. I mean Christmas isn’t for like another 11 months. They’ve got plenty of time to get it out. Heck, I’m Lucky if I start my Christmas shopping before thanksgiving!

    Snowstorm 2026

Maybe thats why I still like it, I haven't really ever "lived" in it for long :D. I was in Denver in 2007(?) when they got 35-42in in ~36hrs, and freaking loved it. And a few years back my father wanted to get snowed in at his family cabin. So a brother-in law and I went to go with him, and got...

    Snowstorm 2026

I know this might sound weird. But I'm low key bummed we haven't had anything. So, just stepping in to say I love all the photos. I'm a snow person by heart, but haven't really lived in it for much of my life. But of course, stay safe/warm everyone. (I'm in the PNW, and we've had a warm, and...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Unrelated, sort of. I don't think my Ioniq 9 has a "hold" feature. But it does have a start/stop button. It does start to "scream" (electronic beeps/frustration) if the key is removed from the vehicle when it is on. But its easy to turn on, throw the key in the console, and go back inside to...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Thanks Jamie :). My first thought was actually this as well. That if anything, the EREV was likely behind the BEV in terms of when it started development. But with the bulk of reservations being harvester, it makes sense. But it sounds like the article isn't based on a new interview then...

Just saw this. Sounds like perhaps the EREV's will come first? https://insideevs.com/news/785636/scout-motors-range-extender/

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Of course, there is always some magical threshold that changes a trip from "we should drive that" to "we should fly that". And that magic distance changes based on a bunch of stuff. And it also sort of depends on what you're used to. I've got a buddy won't drive more than about 4hs in a day...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I mentioned/requested this a while back. While I would LOVE for this to be a thing (converting a EREV to a BEV), I'm thinking this seems relatively unlikely. On the same vein, I'd also really love to see an option to swap to different batteries in the future (like if in 10 years, solid state...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I just did the math on this. EDIT, small change, found the Ioniq 9 was showing total energy used, not what was charged. TLDR: WA to UTA, and back (~1800 mile round trip, ignoring local driving at the destination) fueling/charging costs. BEV (Hyundai Ioniq 9): ~$345 Hybrid (Hyundai...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I understand a lot of the feels here. And I also don't think I could buy an all gas vehicle anymore. The EREV is much better than the PHEV here, because effectively "all" local driving becomes EV only (at least for me). And one of the main draws for me for an EV, is the lower running costs...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

TBH, I'm still split on this. Currently reserved for Harvester, but it might change. Reserved Harvester because: Primary family vehicle at the time was a Tucson PHEV, with only 30 miles of range... but we have loved it. Take road trips every year from WA to UT, where we do ~900 miles in one...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Absolutely they will. And for good reason. Lane centering is more or less table stakes these days. You get free lane keep assist on the base model $26k Hyundai Elantra these days. And I have it on my 4 model year old Tucson PHEV. This 100% has to be the reason. And is another reason that...

    Off-topic stuff…

Meanwhile, in the PNW... its dry. Unseasonably dry. Like, its been sunny and dry for over a week now (0.01in of rain in the past week according to my acuweather weather station). And unseasonably warm (highs in the mid 50's). Looks like this week is cooler, but the temps are closer to normal...
