  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    All terrain tires

Agreed with everything here. And while strange, it is common to have a non-standard version of a tire for use as the OEM tire on a specific vehicle. The Cybertruck was one of those as well IIRC. Something about it being a normal tire, but with already-reduced tread depth for better mileage...

    Dixxon partnership, & EV whirring

This. The actual law says something to the effect of "if a vehicle is moving without a combustion engine running, it needs to make noise of this volume under this speed". And its been that way since like ~2021 or so. Its because at low speeds, vehicles without engines running are quite hard to...

    Traveler Liftgate lighting

This came up in another thread, but wanted to post it here, just for visibility. I'd love a light (or two) tucked into the edge of the liftgate, for use to illuminate the area both under the liftgate, and the surrounding area while the liftgate is open. Nothing crazy, just some small lights...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Yep, any time I see a storm on the forecast that looks "serious" I make sure that the EV is topped off. Even if I keep the charging limit at 80%, I want to make sure that I am at 80%, rather than at ~40-60% in an outage. My EV can only put out 120v x 15amps, use all that much in the house, but...

I didn't even know that Informed Delivery was a thing o_O.

    Scout delayed??

Frunk is a huge appeal for me. Bike rack makes getting into the cargo area in an SUV harder/more annoying. Having the helmets/pads/etc in the frunk, would be great. Especially if it had airflow/could keep it from smelling like something died in there , then I'd feel better about keeping the...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

I put in my data way later than most. So I'm assuming I'll see it... someday, maybe in time for Christmas even :P. (nothing yet)

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I too would like additional discussion about PeanutButterYellow (sorry, even after all this time, I read that, still did the double take/read it exactly as above.) (something must be wrong in my brain)

    Rain/fog Lights in the rear

I think having really bright reverse lights is a very useful request. We've all been backing up at some point in the dark, and barely able to see where we're going. My father and I put a 65w light on the rear bumper of our '97 Wrangler back in the day. It was super useful. Both in normal day to...

Now its an exercise in self control. Do I click the link and see, or do I wait and get surprised?

    Ability to Fit a Snowplow

Bike Racks do the same thing. Especially annoying when you're backing up with a rack on there and it prevents you from even moving :/.

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

Thanks. I'm allergic to social media, and wouldn't ever see this. Weird that they changed the public information on the website, but at least its cleared up by their team elsewhere.

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

Ooof, that would be a huge bummer. All I've heard repeatedly was that they would include it. But, the language has clearly changed for some reason. I severely hope that this is not a result of their increased collaboration with Rivian (Lack of carplay support, and their war on physical...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

You've got space for days!. I believe I have the smallest 3 car garage in existence. I've got about 8inches from the edge of the garage door, to the drywall in the garage, on each side, and like barely 10ft ceilings. Still better than a small 2 car, but a 2 car garage with 2-4ft on the sides...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I'd hope their theoretical future smaller SUV would be narrower. I don't wheel really anymore, but slot canyons are difficult on anything full size, as you're just sooooo wide. I also presume the Traveler/Tera share the C pillar forward, for simple cost reasons. But for the Traveler, it does...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Ah, yeah, I think you're right. I was sort of close... but just on the wrong decade :D. OOF. Whatever it was, my Nephew had never driven anything without one, and didn't think he could backup without one. It was embarrasing. Oh, agreed. If its an option, make it an option. As a side note...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

IMO, The charge port locking the charger to the vehicle while the vehicle is locked, is not really related to "stealing" the gas" scenario from the past. Its to prevent people from unplugging the charger while you're charging, and/or stealing your charger (if you're charging from an L1/L2 where...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

10000% agree. I'm amazed that they went with the pull cord again. As you said, thats a huge issue, particularly with kids in the backseat. And there has been a lot of talk in the press about electric door handles in general lately (Chinas new law for instance). That was one of the things i...

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

I was thinking about this too, but so far I’ve not been able to figure out a way to do this quite yet. At least not in a way that would fit in the carrier as well as the backpack quite yet. There might be more options if the outer shell of the tire carrier was removable. There are three general...
