  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Living with EV

I have an EV (Tesla Model 3). Firstly, everyone is different but for me, the majority of my driving day to day is always within 200 miles (usually a lot less) from my house. So for commuting to work, going shopping, visiting friends and family and normal day to day stuff there are no range...

    Basic or All Decked Out?

I'm towards the luxury side of things. I want comfy seats, good technology (thinking ability to watch Netflix and Youtube TV etc.), good driver assistance for highway driving and cameras including built in dash cam for security, memory seats for at least 2 drivers (ideally just app based so it...

Scout Dimensions Updated On Our Website

Do we have an idea on what the legroom and headroom is going to be? Especially for the rear seats? I’m hoping it’s closer to an F-150 than a Rivian R1T.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Along with CarPlay I would like to be able to watch things like Netflix and YouTube TV on the main screen. This is always nice during charging and stops and even more so if camping somewhere. And on that note I would definitely want to see a camp mode and pet mode for the climate control. That’s...

    Factory Spray On Bedliner

This would be good, hopefully a manually folding tonneau cover as well, less things to break and go wrong with those.

What are you driving until release?

I have a 2022 Tesla 3 long range. We have gone from 2 to 3 dogs and potentially having kids in the next couple of years. We do have a Jeep Cherokee as well but will be wanting something bigger in the coming years. Based on when I was intending to change from the Tesla this should be perfect timing.

    Gas Powered Range Extender

I’ve gone for the ev only option but it will be interesting to see how far the range extender will go, particularly on a long trip where the battery is low and then the gas extender is topped up to full.

    Navigation/Charging

And in addition to the chargers (which can hopefully be filtered by network too) I’m assuming there will be battery preconditioning. A manual preconditioning option would be good too if there was a charger not listed on the nav for whatever reason.

Getting up to speed with EV tech

They probably can if it is offered. My Tesla has a chill mode which limits the acceleration to more normal figures. I only really use that if it’s snowing though.

Position charge port BEHIND the power outlets

That’s why I was thinking front right would be ideal. Would have the same effect as rear left but also let you pull front end in, not only for towing trailers but if you have a cargo mount or something similar that makes backing all the way in and getting the charger to reach difficult.

Position charge port BEHIND the power outlets

I actually think putting it on the front passenger side would be better. That would work for most charging stations while still allowing easy access to chargers when towing.

    What did you reserve?

I reserved a Terra, EV only. Should be enough for me, currently drive a Tesla Model 3 but am going to need something bigger in a few years so this will be perfect.
