  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    No regenerative braking!!!!!!!

Hopefully it'll be easy to add as a option in the drive settings or something with a low, medium and high setting or something like that. I'm used to full regen all the time so that's what I'd be having mine set on. I'm hoping there's not any regen paddles that some vehicles have. Just...

    12v Battery: Not an afterthought

Do we actually know if Scout will be using a 12V or something different? Tesla use a 16V battery for example.

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

They are currently only available to Rivians but I imagine they’ll be open to Scout and others by the time it is released.

    Kia Electric Tasman Pickup

Took me a minute to spot where the headlights were! I think it fills a gap in the market for now, at least until Ford, Toyota etc. can develop a mid-size lowish cost pickup. I wouldn't class the Rivian in the same boat since that's going to be a different price point. I'm the opposite of some...

    Harvester Talk: Q&A

I'm going for the full EV but in terms of how the Harvester will work, I'd be interested in what happens in the following scenario: You're driving on a road trip, the battery is just going from 1% to 0% and you are just about to run out of gas (or already have depending on the order in which...

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

Also, I have watched through some of that YouTube video now (but skipped some of it just for transparency). It's obviously designed to be bad, first up, he said the hotel had chargers but it was just Tesla Superchargers (surely you would check to make sure it's the right type before booking on...

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

This is pretty much how my road trips go. Worst case is no charger at my destination so I have to do a quick top up beforehand so it's ready to go with a higher state of charge but that's about it. Aside from youtube channels, very few people are attempting to road trip with virtually no...

Poll - Scout With Crabwalk or Turn Assist?

I would say probably not, sure they might be nice to have, but I wouldn't want the cost to go up just to have these features.

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

I think the nervousness around charging and road tripping is the biggest issue for people thinking about moving from ICE to EVs. That being said, if the Scout was released today and was based on the specs given I personally wouldn't be worried about taking it on a road trip. Even if you are...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Double plane glass and good insulation. Since it's an EV, road noise could be loud if it isn't soundproofed fairly well. I'm also hoping for good build quality in general, as again, without engine noise, any rattles that develop will be more noticeable.

Tesla Owners - Your software feature recommendations for Scout vehicles

-Sentry mode. -Pet mode/Keep climate on. -Ability to set climate to any temperature before getting in, including turning on heated seats and steering wheel. -Ability to watch Netflix and YouTube TV, it’s great for charging stops or if you’re just stopping for a break to eat on a road trip...

CR New Car Brands Reliability / Scout Projected Reliability?

I have had no issues with my EV (Tesla Model 3) for the last 2 1/2 years I have had it. I am around 45,000 miles and other than a tire change, I have had to do nothing with it. I think the general difference between EVs and ICE, is that an ICE car can break down due to a failure of a number of...

Leverage Existing VW Group Service Centers at Launch

This would be my worry too, and I would very much like to avoid having to deal with dealers for anything to do with sales.

    Size comparison

I wish I could do stuff like this as well. Would be interesting to see how things compare against the Terra as well, like an F-150, Rivian R1T etc.

    Lessons Learned on Range Anxiety

I prefer Sheetz cold selection of food but Wawas hot food is better. I always feel like Sheetz seems nicer and cleaner as well though.

Blind Spot Turn Signal Camera Displayed in Instrument Cluster

For me there are two specific times I tend to use this in my Tesla. One is a weird merge where the lane I’m in stays the same and another lane merges from the left into it from a blind bend and difficult to see clearly in the mirrors so no need for my to signal but nice to have advanced notice...

Blind Spot Turn Signal Camera Displayed in Instrument Cluster

Yes, this would be great, also would be nice to be able to bring the cameras up while driving as well. Can be useful off-road as well as to see around you without needing the turn signal on in certain situations.

    Off-Road EV

Same for me, would be fun to do rock crawling in a vehicle you can rent for that purpose for the day rather than risk anything happening to my own vehicle! For me it would be dealing with snow/ice in winter since I do frequent trips up to the Poconos and into Quebec as well every year along with...
