  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

It’s not really a delay. It’s more of a solidifying timeline. Maybe it’s the portions of the Internet I spend time in, but I feel like a genuine delay. Would be scout coming out and saying that there will be zero production on anything until late 2028 as of right now, nothing would be stopping...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

I would say wording aside this feels like less of a delay in more of a “lock-in” on a timeline but that is because to me it doesn’t feel like the timeline has changed. It’s more concrete. While on the other hand, the one thing scout continues to do that bothers me from a company that had planned...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Well, EREV may currently have more reservations I wouldn’t be too terribly concerned about it as reservations still aren’t guaranteed that people will convert them to orders and when they start sending out, the order forms were request or whatever you wanna call them people still have the chance...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

For as out of touch as dealers are, the manufacturers are just as out of it. A quote from a GMC Sierra EV team lead when asked if they were selling to a younger or older audience primarily. “We’re mainly selling to people that can afford our trucks, and younger people that can afford them” while...

    Scout delayed??

I think the thing about most people’s complaints with towing is very similar to why I assume that they would say that they’d be willing to give up the Frunk. They think they need more than they really do. I’m not discrediting people that do genuinely need to tow heavier items on a more regular...

    Scout delayed??

For the amount of people coming from ICEV I would assume they might say yes, until they get to experience the benefits of a Frunk

    Key Fob question

even GM has it just a few taps on the screen, or if you want the vehicle to remain on until you decide otherwise there’s a trick for that to. I can get why scout may want the button for first time EV owners, but I really think it’s just a byproduct of when it was designed, but having it as an...

    Spare tire discussion

Instead of starting a new thread, I'll bring this here. For the Terra, what is the likely reason for the underbody spare? I'm no vehicle engineer, but what's keeping Scout from adding extra utility to the bed? Something like the Ridgeline, R1T, or even the CT. A carrier built into the bed, that...

    Harvester Capless Fuel Fill Door

I feel this especially with gas pumps, I'm thankful I rarely need to touch them now. Though I feel the same about public chargers.

    Key Fob question

It can have it's place, but for the majority of drivers it's just an extra step. However if you watch any TFL video they like to complain about the removal of the button, since they leave the key in the vehicle during the filming, and gets just as annoying as hearing them complain about "the...

    Key Fob question

I wouldn't assume so since its ran by the software, as long as the vehicle is "awake," you can tell it to run the Harvester. At least based on what we've seen

Ford’s future small BEV vs Terra

I would imagine this new Electric truck Ford is working on is going to be about the size of the Maverick so I’m sure for some people that will be the right size competitive with slate or Tello, but for many people interested in the Terra they want a full-size truck midsize you get the offerings...

    Key Fob question

But I feel like the start button on the wheel should be optional or at the very least bypassable
  14. RodorW

    Key Fob question

just to be clear, I am saying that the vehicles should come with a key fob. But in terms of the connection thing, it really depends on how the manufacturers do it because some of them create a token on your phone or watch the same way that they do with your debit cards so they will always work...
  15. RodorW

    Key Fob question

There definitely should be a Fob but it should be an option, I feel the same about the start/stop button, some people want it some don’t I’d personally like to just approach my vehicle with my watch, get in, buckle up, press the brake, shift into gear and go, no extra steps

    Frunk

The outer dimensions sure, but the size of dash and other mechanical components are different, I have mentioned in another thread I don’t like the amount of plastic walls in the frunk on the concepts, but the rear wall is probably hiding a lot of stuff (atleast I hope for how much of it there...
  17. RodorW

    Frunk

They can't dedicate the entire front area to the frunk, as they have to hide critical components under/behind it. and unlike GM and Ford the dash isn't as large, so some more stuff will be hidden under the frunk I'm sure

    Scout Loyalty

I feel the same way, but it won’t be expressly stated as such, though if I wanted to trade my Gen 1 for gen2 then a loyalty program would be welcome

    Terra - Roof Top Option

We’ve been told a visualization/configuration tool might be available later this year

    Scout Loyalty

I would say the only thing that really makes sense would be a discount for all reservation holders, and maybe for returning customers down the line with mid model refresh or gen 2 and so on
