  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Does this mean they can collect our reservation gifts if we can’t attend? 😁

    The Start/Stop Button

As long as it’s optional everyone wins for now, but “we” (those that don’t want/need a power button) also don’t want a pointless switch just sitting on the steering wheel, which is really the main point of this thread. We can all win if scout keeps the button, but gives us the option for what it...

    The Start/Stop Button

To be honest, I think age plays a part, but largely I think it’s experience. You can feel one way about something until you try it for yourself to know how you really feel. But like EREV is a bandaid for many with concerns of range anxiety, the button is similar in that regard

    The Start/Stop Button

Assuming your referring to the tap the break then accelerator, it will show a message on screen saying the vehicle will not shout off, park outside for emissions, so it’s clearly a left over from their ICEVs to presumably get past the “auto off” for servicing Edit for clarification, I know a...

    Lexus RZ chronicals-by my wife

Congrats on the new car! Here’s hoping for an enjoyable experience with minimal learning curve difficulties!

    The Start/Stop Button

It is heavily implied, and maybe it’s just the way I’m wired, but when I read it I can also see “you’ll have to press this button to turn the car on, but you can just walk away after that”. We know nothing is set in stone, and Jamie won’t have all the answers, but it is good to hear that scout...

    The Start/Stop Button

I agree it sounds that way, I’m just trying to see if Jamie knows if it’s currently intended to work both ways. I spent so much time driving EDVs going back to the 01 F-150 was a pain, but my bolt has its pains to, for instance I can’t walk away, leave it running, and lock the doors, for what I...

    The Start/Stop Button

i feel like most cars on the road now do this, so long as they have a push button, not sure about shut off distance in my car specifically but I can walk away with key and it stays on, I think it’s just a pure timer. So the radius is good to hear being a possibility, but what of the other half...

Scout Concepts in Scottsdale, Arizona, April 25, 2026

They really just started to “tour” this year, probably just need some time to nail down the right venues in places

    The Start/Stop Button

I get where your coming from, but at a certain point I think there’s rules and regulations involved. Sticking with GM for moments they don’t have a “keep” or dog mode, but a service trick to keep it on indefinitely (they might have mentioned a keep mode but I can’t recall if that was real or...

    The Start/Stop Button

As someone that has talked on many different threads about the button, This dedicated thread feels very needed, pooling thoughts and opinions into one place the Scout teams can possibly see. As stated above I’ve seen some peoples reasonings and that is why I think this thread can hold real...

    The Start/Stop Button

😹 I’m okay with a button existing, but if I have a choice. I’m axing the start/stop entirely, but I did mention the possibility of making it something more “auxiliary” in the original post. But for me a after one day in a Rivian EDV at Amazon, I was over keys and push starts

    The Start/Stop Button

Honestly I hadn’t thought to much about it, but if it could be used to turn on detox while driving that would be a much better use. Realistically on/off buttons just aren’t necessary in EVs I get physical controls throughout the rest of the vehicle, but the on off button is very unnecessary...

    The Start/Stop Button

Scout has shown a camp mode that would keep power export on if you wanted to use your scout as a generator for your campsite. Obviously that is not guaranteed to make production, but it has been shown at this point.

    The Start/Stop Button

I’m pretty sure it’s a regulation thing so even if there is no physical start/stop button there has to be a way to tell the vehicle you want it turned off. like I said I know GM offers it through the infotainment system now. As for the other question of being able to leave the vehicle on...

    The Start/Stop Button

I know GMs offerings no longer carry a start/stop button, you get in the vehicle connects with the fob, foot on brake and you’re ready to go, and while many a YouTube channel complains about no shut off, there is. If I’m not mistaken, it ann ever present button on the infotainment system. One...

Test drives should be available at events before mass production starts (based on what info we’ve been given) and should be available at the experience/service centers as they start popping up closer to (and post) launch

    Off-topic stuff…

I wish I had that restraint, I’m holding on to enough for multiple merch drops, to get ccan Raffle entries, but I made that decision last year
