  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Thoughts about an EV off-roader?

I got my back side chew on very severely due to posting a news article related to Teslas failing from driving in flooded streets from tropical storms here in Florida. You have supported my discussion of people using common sense. Why would you even consider driving in water with an EV? Sorry...

    Carburetor rebuilding service

Check out Brooks Carburetor in Clearwater Florida. I have had him work on my M151a1 and he has a very strong reputation within the automotive business.

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

As for tailgates, I think a swing out on SUV's and a drop down on trucks.

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

T-Bear, you sound like an outdoors type. Today with the "mall crawlers", they don't have the same drive (no pun intended). The market has changed, not to my liking or your by the way it looks.

What would options like, one platform/frame suited for both a 4 door SUV & a 2 door truck with an extended cab?

Not sure about the all electric I prefer gasoline

Here in Florida we have neighborhoods that experience rising water into the streets occasionally and not just during tropical systems. The mindset of a few of the locals is "I got four wheel drive" or "I have to get to the school and pickup junior". They drive through the standing water and...

Not sure about the all electric I prefer gasoline

It seems your focus is on common sense. There was a time when automobile manufacturers gave you the tune up specifications on a card, now they tell you not to drink the battery acid, don't put your fingers in the area of the fan. Common sense is not so common.

Not sure about the all electric I prefer gasoline

Fresh water or saltwater, an electric vehicle will suffer when going into a flooded area. If you totally encapsulated the vehicle to protect the many electrical systems, the vehicle would float. Then you would have a boat.

How do you explain this? https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a41573015/teslas-flooded-during-hurricane-ian-are-spontaneously-igniting-in-its-aftermath/

    AI - Scout Concepts

I think the Scout should come out "utilitarian' as it originally did in 61', then evolve in to some 'art deco' piece.
