  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Early door shape

I don't have those skills with PS but I'd be curious what your idea is.
  2. IdahoJOAT

    Rear Seats

I was about to say something similar. I like how cargo would fit with those, but I can imagine in a car crash from the front or rear wouldn't be a positive outcome.

Looks like the Scout isn't the only vehicle VW is re-booting...

Meh. I'd take the Scout... obviously lol

    Open air utility is compelling

This is what I loved about my Scouts as well, and am planning on using my Traveler when I acquire one.

    Rear Seats

What do the FJ40 jump seats look like? The fold and tumble of the Jeep is pretty standard nowadays, so I'd bet they'd go that route.

    Things to Avoid

As a driver you want to be able to turn off the airbag? I don't think that's legal to do. I'd think an option would be to put in your height and the computer might be able to adjust the power of the airbag, but probably not as it's an explosive charge that sets off the airbags in cars. I get...

    International Harvester

    I as well.

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

No worries. You're a good dude and I figured as much :)

    Axles, suspension ideas

I'd like to see something like the Elaphe model at each corner. That L1500 model sounds amazing for the EVangeline project of mine.

    Scout 80/800 vs Scout II/Traveller

I'm a post 71 fan. My dream is a 76 Traveler, but only because of the grill, which I can swap out when I get one. For me it's always about function then form. When we were in Iraq, everyone was getting a wrangler, but I knew it wouldn't work for me and mine. We NEEDED the space for gear. Jeep...

I never realized the Race Terra was the 195 I4... that's badass.

Scout Motors Appoints Chief Design Officer

So when's he getting on the forum?! lol Great hire it sounds like.

My wife might kill me... '76 Traveler

Preciate that, but it's just a dream. We don't have the $1000 to pick it up at this point in time.

My wife might kill me... '76 Traveler

This has been on the market for a while... it's even a '76, my favorite grill. Over these past years this rig has become my dream rig. It's overtaken the '70 Challenger convertible restomod that I've adored for years. I don't really care about powertrain, though it'd be nice if it could get...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

    You damn right! lol

Why do you like to go off-road?

So this is where my ATVs come in. A mentor of mine told me that ATVs were nice because if you fucked one up on Sunday afternoon it didn't affect your commute Monday morning. And while Maggie was built, I'd like my dream '76 Traveler to be a daily on 33 KO2s. Might look at used ATVs for the next...

    Too Quiet

    You'd think brah.

    International Harvester

Can you explain what you father saw on ground zero as the rumors started about the Scout shutting down, all the way to that last day?

EVs on the Trail- Firsthand Experience

I'd love to do this to a '76 Traveler.
