  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Scout Design Ideas

The new Scouts need a solid spot where you can kick the door open. Let me explain. We live on a mountainside, so it is almost impossible to park any vehicle on a level spot. When you are getting out of the uphill side you have a door to push open, and you hope that you can get it far enough...

    Running boards/Step rails-what’s everybody’s preference?

I'm not sure if a Scout should need any kind of step or running board. All of my Scouts are easy to get into, both for me and any guests who may join me. The thing is, I have not succumbed to the "stance" enhancement fad. If SM sticks to their initial intention to honour the legacy, I'd hope...

    Head light and tailight

I pretty much laid out my feelings in the "Learn from Bronco" discussion. Here's a clip. Headlights clearly are going through a widespread design revolution. It is quite clear that since the LED became the goto "lightbulb" because of it's longevity, size, flexibility, and minimal cost all the...

    Learn from the Bronco

I can't comment much on the Broncos as I've not seen one up close yet, but the bar in the headlights is just part of a widespread design trend. It is quite clear that since the LED became the goto "lightbulb" because of it's longevity, size, flexibility, and minimal cost all the automotive...

What would Jamie and Chris like to see in a Launch Edition?

I'm not too concerned with what Jamie and Chris want IN a launch edition. I'll be happy as long as what's in it is ME. It would be a nice legacy touch if the first one off the line had a serial number of FC501 and they advanced from there.

    Things to Avoid

To my mind (and eyes especially) analog gauges are preferable. It's o.k. if the information is presented on a screen, it is the format of seeing a needle and a certain angle that gives instant feedback. Ideally I'd prefer a combination of both. It always struck me as odd that many vehicles...

    SCOUT WILDERNESS CAMPER CONCEPT

The size of the tent in that sketch would be adequate for one or two 4th graders. Most of the cartop tents I've seen for Scouts (et als) are cartop only in terms of transportation, and are collapsed into a tight bundle. They typically expand with an off-board platform and drapes extending to...

    Frunk Focus

Radical !!!! You must be one of those people my Mother warned me about. That said, it is truly time for some thinking outside the box (or three boxes). Now as we transition from fossil fuels to alternatives, and congestion in cities demands new modes of both mass and personal transportation...

    Scout Color Poll #1

The shading on that sketch is reminiscent of a car that runs around Bennington, VT these days. It's a small Ford something but brand isof minimal relevance. It has been completely wrapped with a Kelley Green metallic mirror finish = same colour intensity as your blushing fuchsia. Body curves...

    Frunk Focus

It should be easy in designing an entirely new vehicle to locate the fill points (for washer fluid and anything else) such that there is clear space adjacent that allow for the standard bottle or can to pour directly. The extension funnel is a cute idea, but really just a cover for inadequate...

    Ideas for the scout pickup

There are Toyota dealers bemoaning the Tundras sitting on their lots: unhappy that Toyota had decided to follow the upscale sizing and packaging of the King Ranch sort. Customers are wanting the Tacoma for it's smaller size and less expensive packaging. The 24 Tacoma which is about to hit...

Are EV's scared to embrace the option to upgrade your car?

One might hope that the split between the SUV and PickUp in SM's proposed offering would offer what you (i) hope for. I can't hope for much adaptability in the SUV as its market focus will have to be the daily driver so they can sell lots of them. The pickup it where I hope we will have the...

    Daily Driver Comforts

It used to be fashionable to carry a lock pick in your wallet - just in case - but what do you do when there's no lock to pick? As we venture further into the era of high tech everything, and with our Scouts further from civilization, there's a comfort to knowing there are some simple...

    Daily Driver Comforts

Interesting how these items which I would have considered extreme luxuries when I bought my first Scout in '64 have become very desirable "must haves" as I advance into my 80s.

It's the Scouts who answer the call...

If I may quote: Chrysler is currently owned by Stellantis, a multinational automaker. Stellantis also distributes Dodge, Jeep, and Ram-branded automobiles. In 2021 Italian American automaker Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the French automaker PSA Group (Peugeot Société Anonyme) merged into...

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

Tomorrow's weather forecast reminds me: 1. Snowplow - The Scouts of the first 10 years were fantastic snow plows. Small, agile, and the best plow trucks many of us ever owned. 2. Winch mount points both front and rear. 3. Tow hooks or loops or adequate attachment points for rescue, both front...

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

The key word here is «run», the key issue stated many times in these fora is when some essential element decides not to run when the vehicle is in some remote unserved location.

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

I recognize that this may be the way of the future, but it sure flies in the face of the legacy of the Scout and earlier statements about honouring that legacy with low priced, rugged, vehicles that would fill the utilitarian niche and be adaptable to serious off-road (off grid, off net) use...

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

That's what they said about the big plastic wheel well liners .... until we took one down and found all the caked silt above it.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

should be ≠ are \\ Much depends on designers/programmers' aptitude/eptitude.
