  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Nothing was said about the center position on the bench seat having heating and cooling. Great question though! I’ll see what I can find out.

EV Fires - Did You Know?

VW uses partitions in their packs that act sort of like mini fire walls. It does not make it fire proof, but it certainly helps prevent the fire from spreading. It also helps with battery service as the bad cells are easy to identify , remove and replace. Hopefully, this technology migrates...

    Removable Rear Seats

I would be fine with a back seat that folds completely flat vs. a quick remove option.

Scout Terra Used as a Tow Vehicle for Lightship Travel Trailer

Have you priced a Chris Craft lately?

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I’m a gear head, and as such, I have a couple fun vehicles that are ICE. I look at them as pure nostalgia. I like mechanical things. For me it’s like how people collect vinyl records and listen to turn tables. I’m sure those same folks utilize digital music more often on the whole. But, to...

    Questions about the Harvester

My guess is it will be a low to mid compression, naturally aspirated configuration. So, probably regular.

Towing Behind Motorhome - Flat Towing

@J Alynn there are several motorhomes on the market that I'm sure can pull the little ol Scout around. I think of this sort of vehicle with most of the RV posts that I see on here.

Dedicated space for trash and tissues and overall cleanliness?

I think this every day. My kids currently use their entire area as the trash receptacle. I have a no food in the car rule, yet still find wrappers and lollipop sticks in the door pockets.

    No regenerative braking!!!!!!!

I used to have a Camry Hybrid. The regen in it was about how an EV set in its low to medium regen settings feel. But, I utilize max regen in EVs to facilitate one pedal driving. After getting used to it I find it much smoother and easy to operate and modulate.

    Harvester Directly Powering Motors?

I haven't said it yet, but I think it is time now. I lifted the cargo floor of the Traveler when the security guards were not looking. The pictures attached are what I saw. I think they are sandbagging the estimated range.

    Harvester Directly Powering Motors?

The Harvester and Administration threads both need to be flushed. The Harvester one can come back once we have some official info from Scout. My unempowered, unofficial, personal opinion. :)

Are Aluminum Body Panels on the drawing board?

Great question. I have figured steel all along, but aluminum would be great. I know a lot of body shops had initial concerns when the F150 switched. But, I do not hear much about that any more. I have heard that Scout is all in on rust protection, and that rust is not a happy memory from...

Combination center console and bench seat for 5/6...

Thanks! No worries. It has been covered in a few different threads. I just did a quick search and found it mentioned several times. The only thing that is official so far is that it will fold, it will have storage and it will have cupholders. Everything else is still speculation.

Combination center console and bench seat for 5/6...

The center seat back on the bench will have a console and cup holders. Scout also knows it needs a way to keep the stuff stored inside from falling when the seat back is raised.

    Harvester Talk: Q&A

Bingo! I maintain that many Harvester takers will rarely use it and wish they didn't opt for it. But, to answer your question there will likely be an algorithm or cycle that the engine will regularly start and self check. That should also run through the limited shelf life of ethanol blended...

    No interior carpet

The interior team is well aware of the request for a "waterproof" trim. The fact that they brought it up is a good sign for those that want this feature. If you want it, keep bringing it up. Scout listens to their customers.

    Over-the-air-updates?

    Me either, across two brands.
