  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

The particular engine I suspect was never turbocharged. It was designed for reliability and simplicity from the start. This one has always been naturally aspirated.

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

I agree. Being a Kubota and Hitachi dealer I am around diesels with and without various emissions equipment every day. There are quite a few Kubota diesels that are run in generators, pumps, etc. Those engines are usually very clean inside and run for thousands of hours with little to no...

VW 1.5 or 1.6 naturally aspirated is my strong hunch.

I am absolutely a nuclear fan. It must be a part of our energy production along with solar, wind, geothermal, etc.

    Driving Distance Poll

I still think there should be a mix of providers for fast charging. In my opinion, most if not all, gas stations should have one. I hate to see one company control the charging infrastructure...and internet for that matter.

    Driving Distance Poll

That's what I thought about the adapters, but another member on here told me that only some superchargers will work even with the adapter. BMW is supposed to release their adapter pretty soon and it was my understanding that it will work with all superchargers. Guess I will find out one way or...

This is not Scout's direct fault. But, the project has the Scout name on it. I have to solve problems, that I did not create, all the time! Scouts lead the way! Get ahead of this! If Scout wants to promote being a good neighbor and a good steward of the environment then do it. That said...

Ouch! That's scathing. Not good for what the brand is supposed to represent.

    Driving Distance Poll

I am generally about 60 miles per day. For February it was 57.82. Some days it might approach 80 miles but that’s unusual. I’m averaging 3.0 mi/kWh. It does go up in the summer months. BMW iX 50e.

    Traveler without rear tire carrier

I think you are correct. There was discussion about the panel being body color or black like in the photos. Nothing definitive at that time.

Those are likely retention ponds for storm water runoff. They are designed to help prevent the wrong things from entering the natural wetlands and streams as well as flood mitigation.
