  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Swore I’d never buy an EV, then Scout happened

I'd bet my reservation paid in full to anyone here that a reasonably-equipped BEV or harvester version of either the Terra or Traveler will be well north of $60K at launch. Even with battery prices dropping (should be well under $100 Kw/H by the time they launch in two years) there is no way...

    Traveler without rear tire carrier

After living with a swing-out tire carrier on my Bronco for a couple years - I swore to myself I'd never own something like that again. I'll definitely be skipping the tire carrier on mine. It sucks that that probably means that I'll not have a spare with me, but I'll chance it I guess. With...

    leasing

@Jamie@ScoutMotors I hope you guys are already strategizing your discussions with the upcoming White House Administration to keep the EV incentives coming in some form, and generally favorable policies to help the industry grow. I'm sure the credits will be cut/restructured but hopefully we...

    Living with EV

About four months ago I started a new position for my job. Unfortunately, after nearly five years of working 100% remote I now had to be in the office four days per week - about 20 miles from home. I quickly realized I needed another car, so I ended up leasing a 2024 EV6 to test the waters of...

    Advice from a Bronco owner

Also a day-one reservation holder for the Bronco and was one of the first to have mine delivered in August 2021 (4dr Big Bend). Agree with everything said here for sure. I ended up selling it after two years (purchased a Kia Telluride, which I wholeheartedly love more than the Bronco). I'm...

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

I guess I'm just biased - I really wanted to love it, but it's just a huge hassle for lots of reasons. I have a regular sunroof on my Telluride and that's all the open air I need. All the benefits without the issues. But hey, hopefully Scout offers some options here. I'd love it if they have the...

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

Well of course it's not the same - neither is a Bronco soft top. My point was about soft tops in general. With my top, even though it was only soft/retractable over the driver and passenger it still made a huge difference letting in more wind/road noise vs. the hard top panels.

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

Eh, I had a 21 4dr Bronco with a HT and a soft sunrider in the front. Was a total PITA to adjust properly and keep the wind out. Not to mention the road and wind noise. I want nothing to do with that cabana top.

    Traditional sunroof

I'd prefer a regular roof - no glass top and a standard tilt-up/retractable sunroof.

    Gas Powered Range Extender

I believe these days everything is compliant to all 50 states, manufacturers pretty much just do what is needed to pass CA emissions regs and apply that to everything. Honestly I think what Scout is doing with the ERV is great, and will bring in a lot of folks who would not otherwise buy a pure...

    Gas Powered Range Extender

I'm definitely going EV-only. Especially here in California. That "little" gas motor still likely needs liquid cooling, emissions controls, cat converters, etc. also CARB approval (so emissions testing/etc.). I just don't see how all of that can be added and not drive the cost higher vs. more...

    Color/Graphic Option

I liked A51 until I saw it in person, it was way more blue than I was hoping for. Cactus gray was a different story - I actually had a silver base model reserved and changed to a CG Big Bend once I saw the color in person at a dealer event. I still love that color! Hoping that Scout has...

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

Traveler EV. No gas for me. And I'll do a pretty basic trim as well to get a faster delivery and lower cost.

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

Thanks for clarifying the outside dimensions - I was worried at first but now that I know the 207.9" L is with the spare tire carrier (which I believe is an option, that I would not want anyway). 190" is much more reasonable and what I was expecting in a larger mid-size SUV. Any initial...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Me either. I had 33" tires on my Bronco and never came close to needing the off-road ability it had. It's just not something I'm going to do in my $60K daily driver. I sold the Bronco and bought an AWD Telluride, and honestly that has all the off-road ability I need.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Great, I have zero interest in anything larger than a 33" tire anyway. The kind of off-roading that requires a 35 is the kind I'm not doing in a $60K vehicle...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

An option to delete the swing-out tire carrier and have the spare underneath the vehicle. I really hated the swing-out carrier on my Bronco, it was a total PITA.

    Color/Graphic Option

Call me crazy but I still love a good flat/non-metallic light gray. I LOVED Cactus Gray on my '21 Bronco and would happily have that same color for the Scout.

Jerry Cans + Harvester Range Extender

This brings up an interesting point - I wonder how all this will work in terms of the harvester actually charging the EV. Seems like it would not really re-charge the EV batteries significantly while keeping the vehicle running at full power. Perhaps it will allow the harvester to run while the...

    Gas Powered Range Extender

No range anxiety for me at 350 miles. I'm more concerned about how big the battery pack will need to be for that (Guessing somewhere close to 200 KwH) and how long that will take to charge with L2 chargers that typically only push 6-10 Kw.
