  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Rearview Camera Monitor

Not so much of a game changer - but something everyone has already come to expect. I guess my 12 year old minivan was the first one in my family to have one, then my VW, then my F250. Hell I even put one on my LJ so it would not feel left out. FWIW, while the 360 view in the Ford is nice, the...

    Competitor Beaters

I was kind of surprised that they did not have built in winches in the reveal vehicles. Abet I realize winches are a personal decision - but this is a fairly large vehicle - and I am not really sure I want to add an additional foot to them to put the winch in front. They have already said they...

Missing DOT Clearance & Identification lights

The only roof lights my F250 has is the third brake light. The only side clearance lights are part of the headlight an taillight assemblies. I think I see the 3rd tail light and side lights on the Traveler. The 3rd tail light is built into the air damn.

Will Scout ever build a competitor of the Wrangler and Bronco?

To me, profit needed to be addressed. Businesses do not stay in business without profit - and this is a risky venture. We want them to stay around for a long time down the road. I read plenty of criticism that Scout is just a scam to get .gov money to build a plant that will eventually be...

    Lay flat seats

While fold flat would be nice for promptitude camping, most SUV's don't fold flat enough to comfortably sleep on. A gear shelf (strong enough to climb on) tends to work a bit better (if you don't mind the lack of headroom. You can store your gear under it, and it can help level out a less than...

    Travels

Size looks like it would be good for car camping-or I guess I could use the modern term - overlanding. The rear seats would need to fold down, but that is mostly expected. Depending on the person camping, the front seats might need to slide forward and tilt forward (less common, but still not...

    Reveal - No Way!!!!

At least from what I have read, the Traveler is longer and wider than the Bronco. It appears to be somewhat more comparable in size to a Tahoe. It is probably longer with the spare tire, and possibly wider (but the Tahoe width is only published without mirrors).

    Sunroof please!

Location is important. I hope there is a hard top option. Of the many vehicles I have owned, only 2 have had hard tops. My first, and a Tacoma. Every other one has had t-tops, sun roof, freedom panels, etc... I learned to hate them with the first one that had them, but have had them rammed...

New Scout Trucks To Be Revealed October 24, 2024

I think the real question is if they included the side view mirrors in the measurement. My F250 is 106" with the mirrors (not sure if that is with the mirrors extended or contracted - but folded is 96. The Raptor is is 96" with mirrors. 92" with mirrors is livable. I will admit, I do not...

Front bench seats or middle jump seat up front

While I liked the picture of the front bench in the reveal - I will admit I liked the front bench in my old F150. It was a molded rather than flat bench - it gave some of the feel of a bucket, but the backrest folded down so you had a pretty decent sized console when you did not need the extra...

    Decoding Reservation Numbers

I am wondering if it is random... 43527193** EV Traveler, within 2 minutes of being able to reserve on my computer - abet I had to pause the reveal for 4 minutes to take the dog out and it would not let me fast forward. 5:40 confirmation email.
  12. M

    What did you reserve?

EV Traveler. There are a lot of details to flesh out. No clue if they will be fleshed out completely till vehicles start rolling of the line. They did not mention driving assist features, they did not mention if a hard top will be an option (I live in a hot climate - I have NO desire for a...

New Scout Trucks To Be Revealed October 24, 2024

Reserved... Closer to what I hoped for than I honestly had any exceptions. It missed on a few small counts, but those "might" be addressed. I have no desire for the cabana top - and honestly, will drop the reservation if it is not able to delete that option. Wish it would have been 1" taller...

Countdown To The New Scout Era: Hands-On Activities Before The Big Reveal!

I guess it is a matter of reading comprehension and research. True, they started the stream at 4pm - but it seemed like it would have been better to say the event is at the time the event starts, and start the stream with a countdown before that. Still, I am kind of glad I saw the beginning of...

Countdown To The New Scout Era: Hands-On Activities Before The Big Reveal!

Did anyone else see a crossover the first second of the presentation?

    A New Generation Of Scout

First second of the presentation - not what I was expecting. Will see if it was an accident I guess. --- OK, whatever that first second splash was, I am very happy that the Traveler did not look like it.

New Scout Trucks To Be Revealed October 24, 2024

I would be more on the fence about a range extender - it would depend on how it is done and what it costs. I don't especially like how the Cybertruck did it's range extender - you should not have to sacrifice the bed and utility of a truck to get more range. I would much prefer different...

    A New Generation Of Scout

Roofs can always come off, it's putting them back on afterwards that is the issue. Kind of converted rather than convertable
  20. M

    Realistic range concerns.

At this point, I expect it is a lot less about new technology increasing range for the Scout - but more the economic decision of which currently commercially existing technology to use. There are several currently produced batteries with much better watts/lb - but honestly at this point they...
