  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

More lift, less lift, or just right.

Funny, when I look at it - I tend to think it is the road option... It is about the same height of my 1/2 ton Chevy was. Worse vehicle mistake I ever made. Sold in while it was still under warranty (it had way too much warranty work). Was not paying attention to the axle - it did not have...

More lift, less lift, or just right.

I kind of am afraid to post this poll, as I have become well aware that there are people looking at the Scout from many backgrounds and with many different expectations. I have read quite a few posts illustrating a fear of height. On the flip side, the Scout will most likely be lower than most...

    Dimensions

You simply will never please everybody. But I have to chime in just to try to prevent the Traveler from being changed to something I find far less desirable. ITS TOO TALL - no, it's not. It may be too tall for some people granted, especially if you are used to driving a car. But tall is...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Putting the winch on the receiver puts it entirely in front of the bumper, extending the overall length quite a bit. What would most likely happen is the winch would end up living a hidden life in the frunk and not adding it's cool factor to the vehicle. Which let's face it, probably sells...

Future Model: Scout Sport- Smaller, and more efficient, but still capable.

Guess it depends on where you live - whats a Rav4. No, just joking, used to live in Austin - so while I know what they are, I don't see many where I live now. New company, limited production - make the highest margin vehicle first. Then if sales has not exceeded production capacity, consider...

    Post Reveal Suggestions

Not sure if this is the best place for this post. But a few other thoughts that I have had after watching a bunch of various reveal videos. I see a lot of buttons and switches. Don't know what they do. At least one reveal video gave a close up and I rather questioned the labels on them...

    Dog Ramp

Got a ramp for my labs - never managed to get them comfortable using it though. It is somewhere in the barn now - partially broken because I think I drove over it. My LJ doors are at 28" - the labs have no trouble yet jumping in (oldest is 8). My shelty - it needs help getting in the...

    Post Reveal Suggestions

Tall is relative. The bottom of the door of my wife's Rubicon (with 35" tires) is 24". I have no trouble getting into it - but when measuring it, I have to admit the drivers side base of the door frame has the paint rubbed a bit - so I bet my wife is stepping there. The bottom of my LJ door...

[Terra] Double cab with a 6.5' bed

Sigh... One reason I never really considered getting a Raptor was the lack of the 6.5' bed. They make F150's with an extend cab and a 6.5' bed now - but not Raptors. I made the mistake of getting my first F150 with a 5.5' bed. I used that truck well, and it lasted forever for me - but it's...

    Audible pedestrian warning noise

My LJ has a strait 6 AND mud grips. It is almost painful at highway speeds - even after I soundproofed the interior. Only thing that would have made it worse is having a soft top.

    Terra Rear Bumper

I have to agree. While I reserved a Traveler - I did notice that the Terra's rear bumper was less than optimal. That said, it looks like it is mostly independent of the body - so should be easy enough to have different options. Would be best if those options were not all aftermarket though -...

    Audible pedestrian warning noise

I can joke, but off road tires do a pretty good job of making noise themselves.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I apparently was mistaken. Tesla does offer 3-phase charging, but only outside the US. On top of that, they apparently have discontinued making vehicles capable of 80amp 240v charging - leaving the Ford (all Tesla vehicles apparently now max out at 12kw/h - even though some earlier vehicles...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The Scout is going to have a large battery - 3 phase home charging has not been mentioned. Ford did allow for a faster home charger, but it was an expensive option. I think several Teslas have a faster home charging capability built into the vehicle - with all that is really needed is an...

List Your 10 Favorite Things About the New Scouts

It took me a few days to figure this out - but honestly it might be my favorite thing about the Scout. It does not scream EV. Scout did not focus on making it look EV different. It looks beautiful, but in a traditional way. When I look at it, I don't see EV written all over the design. Car...

    Camper Shell

I have had several vehicles with hard top camper shells. For sleeping, a 6.5' cap is MUCH nicer than a 5.5' cap - to the extent that the 5.5' cap is almost useless for sleeping. You can go over the sides of the bed to get the width necessary for a mattress - but then for most slide in campers...

    Cab Options

In the traditional dealer model - floor plans cost money. Stocking more costs money. Now some dealers do get incentives to be regional inventory storehouses - but most dealers don't have the acreage to do that. So dealers stock what they think they can sell with the most margin. When I got...

So, how many reservations so far?

I reserved within a few minutes of the presentation ending - probably should have opened a second browser and reserved when they said reservations were open. That said, perhaps it is not a bad thing to let someone else deal with any potential bugs from the first few weeks/months of production.

    Duck, Duck......Scout?

So far I have found that ducks tend to be on Jeeps most likely driven by females. I have a nice LJ, that has been duck free my entire ownership.
