  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I did an edit but the important note is this is XC not EX, so the hybrid instead of EV so the styling will be different.

I posted earlier in the week but we recently drove the current year XC90 and the interior is similar but the ipad is much smaller and there are still some physical buttons. (this is the mild-hybrid so not the EX EV so it's not a 1:1)

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

Sounds like my neighborhood. We're all underground but once you leave the hood its pole wiring surrounded by dead ash trees. We really need a generator (and bidirectional charging) since it seems like power goes out every storm.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Just a hunch, but I'd wager that further entanglement between Scout and VW would negatively impact their position in the direct-to-consumer legal battle.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

This is actually a great point. Many of VW’s subsidiaries, with Audi being the clearest example, are deeply integrated into the VW. They share platforms, engineering, supply chains, and operate within tightly coupled governance and capital structures. Scout is intentionally different. It was...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Scout Motors, while part of the Volkswagen AG, is very specifically an independent company. It is not Volkswagen.

Looking at their map this looks like its the only one in our area at this point. I don't know if others are going online (most Wawas around here have added Tesla chargers within the past ~year, but Wawas also multiply like rabbits in the philly burbs so who knows whats planned for the new...

I love your post and I think it helps highlight how confusing charging is as someone from the outside looking in, and I'm on the curious/want to learn side of the outside, I can't imagine how overwhelmed someone else would be.
