  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Battery Life Cycle

Gruber Motors in Houston can replace individual cells of bricked Tesla batteries…they mostly do the original roadsters I think. Recycling/repair options would be dependent on how battery is manufactured.

    Eagle Scouts

Local auto upholstery shop? Or, maybe someone like Wet Okole who does custom seat covers (if seats aren’t fitted with airbags)?

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

Diesels typically have lower horsepower, higher torque ratings than gas…better for towing. I wouldn’t think a half ton gas truck would have same capability as a diesel counterpart.

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

Isn’t Terra guesstimated at 7K though? I think it’s Traveler that’s at 5. This is all also two years away. I am a little concerned though that folks are excited right now because all things seem possible and each person has their dream configuration…but it’s not feasible for the Scouts to be...

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

I’ve been thinking reading posts that it might be as simple as buy the truck version if a higher tow capacity is needed/wanted. I’d love to ditch the frunk for more battery though that might not go over in crash test ratings, lol.

Going down you’ll gain range. Going down Beartooth Highway I gained about 40m of range.

Deep Dive into EREV - Ramcharger vs Harvester?

Agree. Range is everything. No one regrets having more range. I’ve thought it a major mistake by Ford to have such small batteries in the Mach E and Lightning. Size matters. I’d love Harvester to have a 350m battery plus Harvester range. I’d happily give up the frunk.

Scout Warns VW Dealers Fighting Direct Sales That It’s Not Playing Around

Well, no, not really. The dealership would have to invest in service tools and training and I’m not thinking that’s likely. Id be a little concerned taking my Scout into an angry dealer who wants me super unhappy with the Scout so they can sell me an Audi. The showrooms/service centers coupled...

Scout Warns VW Dealers Fighting Direct Sales That It’s Not Playing Around

From the CEO’s interview with Motor Trend I understood that Scout is under the International VW Group as an independent company/brand, not part of VW of North America.

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

I have a full pano glass roof…it came from factory with tint. Even in Houston never an issue. I’d even bought the internal shade and didn’t use it even once. My dad would almost bring dealers to tears. I learned to pack a lunch and bring a book. The first two dealers were his exploratory...

January 2025 Scout Production Center Construction Update

Haha! Throw an AirTag in the vehicle and send us its link…we can be dedicated stalkers.

Consumer Freedom and Scout Motors in South Carolina

Yeah, I mean, if you want something done right you gotta give it to a woman, lol. That’s pretty crafty loophole thinking! North Dakota has a DTC ban, too, so bought in Minnesota. Does South Carolina have any tribal lands? Figure if it worked for casinos…

Volkswagen EVs to Get Tesla Supercharger Access

Just keep in mind only Superchargers with Magic Dock can be used by other OEMs. Pretty limited number right now. But hopefully by 2027 more will have been retrofitted. But I wouldn’t bank on perpetual access…Musk is a take his toys and go home kind of guy when his ego gets bruised…the cave...

First Responders, Military and Veterans Program

SC has some of my favorite BBQ sauces.

    Referral Program

This, absolutely. And the Tesla program was erratic, to say the least, though my ferrets are etched in glass floating around in space, lol. Maybe something modest like a UMC for the referred person and a factory tour/special Tshirt for referee…something that’s meaningful but not particularly...

    Scout Brand Ambassdor Program

Oh, wow! Beautiful…and I’m guessing in spring you get enough undercoat to stuff accent pillows! What kind of dog is that?

    Scout Brand Ambassdor Program

Pepper matches the traveler color, lol. How cute is this face?…not a bear but bearish characteristics….though maybe doesn’t scream “rough and tough”!

    Scout Brand Ambassdor Program

So now we need to start posting pictures of our animal friends and hope one gets cartoonified into a mascot? I’m in!

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

I love my EVs for the last seven years. And in the south there’s not too many charging deserts. But here in North Dakota and Minnesota, if you enjoy visiting some remote state parks, things can get a bit tight…L2 charging on a road trip just isn’t pragmatic in my opinion. If there’s not a SC...
