  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I've changed my reservation no less than 20 times, I'm in danger!!!

I'm not sure what side of the fence I'd be on this, but it would be interesting to see them have an additional $ lock in for your vehicle. $100 refundable puts you on the list to receive either. +$500 locks in your choice and reserves your spot in line (moves you ahead of the initial...

My understanding is there will be a point in time where we are expected to "lock in" our reservations which will help guide that!

Is a very sneaky PR quote, because as long as you produce one vehicle on 12/31/27, you still reached your goal ;) I want this on my Traveler!!!

    Scout delayed??

Replying to myself but I found this article from October of last year: https://www.electrive.com/2025/10/06/vw-reassigns-cariad-as-coordinator-of-rivian-and-xpeng-software/ Relevant: So its not as much a "Cariad has to step in!" and more of a "Cariad was demoted from the development cycle and...

    Scout delayed??

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't know what you'd gain from involving Cariad aside from "institutional experience" which may not be wanted or needed.

I blame social media for this. Everything gets an instant reaction, rebuttal, reaction video, breakdown, deep dive, whatever. There's always a winner and a loser whether its politics, sports, technology, cars, stocks, TV shows. And your team Winning is the only thing that matters. Someone I...

There is a very widespread misconception that the R2 and Traveler are direct competitors.

A true Rivian cultist would be more distraught by potential Scout delays, since the success of their partnership is a key component to them ever seeing green.

My car is at ~90k miles and freshly out of warranty so we've entered the true maintenance cost vs value territory. Just hoping that scale doesn't tip until I can take delivery because not having a car payment is awesome in the interim. (and I need new brakes and tires ugh) No question I could...

Important to remember that "production start" and "when I get my vehicle" are two vastly different dates. I wasn't expecting to be behind the wheel until 2028 anyways.

This is one of my Volvo peeves too! In my Subaru its a knob I can just turn to get the air just to where I want (usually feet + defroster in the winter). In the Volvo, theres only a Defroster button which puts you on MAX AIR, so you then have to go a layer into the touchscreen to adjust where...

Our volvo auto-folds when you lock the car, and if you press both mirror buttons together otherwise it will fold/unfold them. I think you can also double press one of the buttons and it will angle it down for parking ;)

Will never forget pulling in to pick up my youngest from daycare one day and there were 3 teslas in the parking lot, all with "be patient new driver!" magnets on them, and all were scratched, dented, or suffering from more than "cosmetic damage" Yeesh.

I think the problem is even more pronounced with adults. Kids have had technology exposure for their entire lives and are generally adaptable/quick to learn things. New-adult-drivers cause absolute chaos in "autopilot" vehicles.

This is one of my biggest issues with Teslas, something I've stated on this forum many times. Many years ago, if you saw an old beater coming up on the highway you might thing "oh boy, here we go." Now its a Tesla. Inexperienced drivers flock to Tesla because it "drives itself" and when...

If some of these EVs were gas vehicles you'd have to navigate through multiple touchscreens to unlock your fuel door.
