  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Spare Tire, Backpack, or Bald?

I don’t know how to change that. @Jamie@ScoutMotors is there a way to change your username? Anyone else know? Thanks!

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

For anyone who doesn’t know, the only reason we can’t sit in them is because they are one of a kind multimillion dollar hand built, with lots of 3D printed parts and the body panels are carbon fiber. The numbers I have heard are somewhere between $3 to $5 million each. When I was in Chicago I...

    Spare Tire, Backpack, or Bald?

Welcome to the community! I have a JK and similar situation. I can just fit with the gate open and the garage closed due to a cabinet at the back of the garage. This is the measurement I got with the measuring tool on my iPhone. I took this at Nats last year. @SpaceEVDriver I’m curious...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Sounds like a state issue and poor planning on their end, not a SM issue.

    R2 Launch Watch

That’s one thing that concerns me about OTA. like you just get used to something and like it and then they completely change it.

Not yet. The information we have is from Jamie at SM. The visualizer is coming later this year and the configuration will be closer to production. https://community.scoutmotors.com/posts/73536/

    Happy Easter

Look! I asked Gemini to make the Traveler the colors and patterns of a Ukrainian Easter Egg!

Honestly just give VW a pickup of their own and those dealers can just go away.

    Trim level options

This is the only thing I recall Jamie posting on this topic. Visualizer later this year. Configurator closer to production. https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/scout-configuration-tool.7539/post-73536

    Retrofitting a winch

Not specifically, however last May Jamie from SM posted this thread with pictures of a rendering of a Traveler with a winch. There has been talk of an accessories shop at the factory that would add things to our Scouts after they come off the production line. A winch has been a consistent ask...

Welcome to the community. No specifics on that information has been released yet. The best person to follow on here for that would be @Jamie@ScoutMotors. He keeps us updated on things like that.

    Hey Lady Scouts!!

Look at this! A headrest with a gap for a pony tail. Just today in fact I had to take my pony tail out to sit comfortably in my son’s car.

    Spare Tire, Backpack, or Bald?

The originals had them in the back but that would just take up so much room.
