  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

Yep, it will have to if I expect to replace it with a new Scout - of similar size. 9 additional years will get me to the big reveal of the small Scout - if there ever is one. I won't trade my mid-size SUV for a behemoth Expedition-sized vehicle. Or even an F-150.

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

Have yet (knock on real wood dash applique in my wife's X4) to have issues with my '21 with 48k miles. Only fully opening the softtop first time just last month may have helped with no top wear. Also it's a 2.7 slushbox. Engine was even assembled right in the middle of the valve keeper issues.

    Hilux Champ 2-Door Inspiration?

Can you even buy a 2 door RAM? Don't think I have seen one that did not say Dodge on it

    Fusilier down and out......for now

Reported by Top Gear the Ineos Fusilier is dead in both full EV and extended range version due to many factors including slumping EV sales and tariffs and ban coming up in 10 years on even hybrids in UK and EU. Although it was not scheduled for production until 2027 at least there were...

    VW is investing in Rivian

If there were existing wetlands before then there have to be wetlands after. Maybe replaced elsewhere, mitigated, if you will, but nobody, nobody can build even a parking lot without a retention area to go with it. Been that way since last century. If South Carolina has given Scout Motors a...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

While integration of any phone's features and capabilities into the vehicle are generally welcomed (except when the keypad pulled up on dash won't respond to "press 1 for..." the idea that only an iPhone user can change their dash display is to me overreacting. The ability to change what gauges...

    VW is investing in Rivian

Talk abput belly up, glad I did not spring recently for an almost free Fiskar Ocean. It's one thing to get parts and service after Pontiac-Olds-Saab- Plymouth-Mercury-etc have gone away but where do you get parts or service for Fiskar or Lordstown Motors?

    Production plant energy sources?

Sadly PA drove all vehicle companies out of town by 1. not being a right to work state 2. not throwing enough incentives at companies We had a VW plant that was Honda plant that was a Sony TV plant, maybe not in that order. We had Mack Trucks. And Piper aircraft. We barely have Harley down...

    VW is investing in Rivian

Canoo skateboard tech as a potential partner up. And it may all be smoke and mirrors. Ford was invested heavily in Rivian until Rivian was geared up to produce vehicles. The Ford bailed out to pursue the F150 Lightning all on their own (or with usurped tech?) Rivian is now poised to produce...

    Production plant energy sources?

Ssomeone should compare the energy cost of air conditioning a ten acre building in SC with the very minimal heat needed in winter in PA or MI for similar facility. Heavy manufacturing should be heat neutral in the north

    Lessons Learned on Range Anxiety

Latest warning on pure EVs is know ahead of time where the manual door release is hidden in case the separate 12v battery dies and locks you inside

Who would be a perfect brand ambassador?

Since the vehicle is all electric how about Robbie the Robot?

    Does anyone miss these?

It does possibly require a channel for the main window and be extension a full framed door. Which also unfortunately (although the ones on my Bronco have never been off since put on at the factory) means fixed non removable doors

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

So we got a little sidetracked to range anxiety which has its own thread but to be clear, when we travel to see one set of kids it is 600 Mike's and about 9 hours driving. Through WV mountains at sustained 80-95 mph to keep from being run over. We only have to stop once for fuel n either of our...

Direct competitor: 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S

Here is a thought to explain some things. Companies at least US cpanies introduce their first EVs on full size truck platfos because it is thd only way without new from ground up architecture or battery tech that they can come close to providing a 300 mile range. They need the extra wheelbase...

Direct competitor: 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S

With the statements elsewhere that the launch Scout will be the size of an F150 which equates to Expedition in suv even which would exceed the dimensions of a Grand Wagoneer I am hoping not

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

If this is true then this vehicle may not be for me. Size alone makes it a $85k vehicle compared to $55k expected pricing for a Rivian R2 with both front and rear drive.

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

We don't even know the size of the Scout yet. Is it the size of an Explorer- Rivian R1- F-150 or size of Wrangler - Bronco- Rivian R2? If the latter Rivian has set the bar at $45,000 300 mile range and the R3 even lower. My Bronco was just over $55k. Equivalent Defender is $75k. I would pay...
