  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    VW is investing in Rivian

Exactly the kind of thing being done in Cleveland. Sometimes though older structures were to well built. We had a local school whose doorways could never become ADA compliant, couple with old time asbestos in or on many surfaces.....it is now a public park with a pavillion

    Scout Color Poll #1

It took Ford way too long to offer Heritage colors on the Broncos. Not until third year in. Granted the color schemes in 1962-1963 were pretty tame and many may not translate well to modern tastes.

I would rather be driving my Scout!

Looks good as it sits. Don't go overboard on restorationnor you will be afraid to take it out

July 2024 Scout Motors Factory Construction Update

Seems to be coming along just fine. A suggestion, if you will, and maybe it's already covered.....laser guided and auto adjusted box scrapers can prep the interior subsurface such that the variation in leveling for even a plant that size can be minimized, thus reducing overall the amount of...

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

What about offering right hand drive? Subaru used to offer such a vehicle marketed to rural mail delivery persons that had to supply their own vehicles. Or it could lead to exports, not just to the UK or Australia but also to two of the USVI, St Thomas and St John where traffic is bass ackward...

Right after Jeep drops the Chero...oh they already did.

    Audible pedestrian warning noise

One of my best sounding vehicles was my 1984(?85?) Pontiac 6000STE. The engineers tried to tune the exhaust to sound like a Porsche and for a small water-cooled V6 (it was only a 3.2 or 2.8 as this predated the 3.8) but did it ever sound sweet back then. How about when you press the go pedal...

    Audible pedestrian warning noise

I would settle for the somewhat smooth idle of 1 bbl slant 4........with the air cleaner lid on upside down. Anyone else ever open up the air intake like that?

    Audible pedestrian warning noise

I don't trust any other drivers turn signals and refuse to pull out in front of a supposed turning vehicle until they initiate the turn. But as you run facing traffic, there is a large contingent of runners and walkers that do not face traffic and so it is even easier for a distracted driver to...

    Audible pedestrian warning noise

Consider this. An EV might be required to make noise akinvto an idling engine when stopped a red light or stop sign BUT an ICE with auto stop start makes no noise when stopped and not idling. Dare we suggest that when off an ICE vehicle should have artifical sounds? And can we choose our own...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Oh and in an emergency, is there anything peculiar about an EV doors such as high voltage that first responders should know before using the "jaws of life" to extract trapped persons?

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Better off with android auto and alexa to respond to voice instructions such as " Alexa, for the love of God, open the doors so we can exit the vehicle " to which she responds " I can't do that, Dave" But there have been reported instances where the auxiliary 12 volt on board battery that runs...

    Summer Reveal

A few posts back @Jamie@ScoutMotors dropped a 2025 bombshell that no one picked up on yet. Sure hope he meant only for tour and not reveal. As far as preproduction mules for a reveal....nothing has been leaked on the www so maybe nothing has seen full light of day yet. I would expect these...

    Scout Design Ideas

PHEVs could be 100% of market share if that were all that were produced. But since every manufacturer I see couples them with the smallest engines, Ford included, there is still no push in that direction. And if/ when it comes to a time when zero ICE vehicles are allowed to be produced then...

When is the scout reveal happening?

Late summer. Nobody said which year so it might be in a month or two or 13-14 That being said my $100 fully refundable deposit to hold a place in line is burning a hole in my pocket. I do hope they offer a reservation program and that we get first dibs

    Scout Design Ideas

Car companies that do not produce vehicles running fully on alternative power do face a California deadline prohibiting sales or even importing from other states if I read it correctly. It just happens to one state. Other states in many cases adopt CARB restrictions above and beyond DC but are...

    Fusilier down and out......for now

I see all the Ford Lightning ads but still find it hard to comprehend that a battery only capable of pushing 3 tons down the road for only 4 hours can run an entire house for more than a day let alone more than 4 hours. But even with a nominal sized standy generator one can only utilize abput...

    Realistic range concerns.

Our most often trip is 600 miles from PA to NC and currently we can do it with just one 5 minute stop for gas. Our new X4 with exactly same config as 3 year old X4 we traded consistently gets better mpg and a fill-up of its mere 16 gallon tank displays over 500 miles to empty. That should be...

    VW is investing in Rivian

I will just say this in support of what appears to be an opposing view and that is there are several empty and unused manufacturing plants scattered across the country that could possibly have been a less expensive proposal. Why new when it is obvious that sites such as Lordstown will be empty...

Would be a real shame if Jamie dropped a reveal date......

Any guarantees for the faithful that we can be first in line for FE edition? (IF it's worth it) Not sure I would have opted for the Bronco FE over my OBX but if I recall when the reservation banks opened all the FEs were spoken for already
