  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

New Scout Trucks To Be Revealed October 24, 2024

I would hope those possibilities include overall a smaller than full size truck and SUV. We don't ( I dont) need another F150 or Yukon that just happens to be all electric. I would jump all over an R2 rather than an R1. So if the Scout is 25% or more larger than the last scout II or current...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Not bad for adding a slight wheel well budge and and square headlights to a Scout II although for a 4 door it has a 2 door front door compromising the entrance exit from rear seat. At least that is my first impression. If it follows most EVs the grille will be flat without openings. After...

Broncos have some Easter Egg map coordinates designed in. Something like that with coordinates to places in Scout history

    Volkswagen Dealerships

It is a good question that may still be on the drawing board. Some VW dealers might not want the hassle of dealing with something even though affiliated is foreign to them. They may even feel relieved that parent VW is retrenching on EV. With the multi billion "software" deal with Rivian maybe...

    Will there be toys?

Back in the day dealers gave out promo models of new cars.

    Will there be toys?

Probably for licensing purposes. Toys and models are made by toy companies not the car companies. Licensing is a big business. If Scout is on their game plan then blueprints have already been leaked to Ertl, Revell- Monogram, Mattel- Hot Wheels, Matchbox, etc Even a kid size EV. I bought my...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Have you ever traveled cross country in your EV? Even a two day 21 hour 1600 mile trip? If you can eek out the full 300 mile range between each "refuel" that is 5 stops minimum at how long each to top off at 100%? Does 45 minutes give you 100% stopping at a Sheetz or Love's? Or does it take much...

    Vehicle locking

Never had a trunk open but when we stop somewhere with wife's bimmer and she wants to lock her purse in trunk I make sure she removes the keys as I would assume the vehicle would unlock for anyone as long as keys are onboard However just driving a rental Volvo and it would not start until I...

New Scout Trucks To Be Revealed October 24, 2024

Thank you, Scott. And please keep the community in mind for a unique (even allowing First Edition availability - unlike Bronco from 4 years back) reservation at, wait for it.....dare I suggest $80 ( in honor of the initial Scout model I grew up driving)

New Scout To Be Revealed On October 24, 2024

On my calendar! Setting aside my $$$ for a reservation. If Scout Motors follows the lead of previous US reservations like Bronco and Rivian $100 should do it. If SM wants to lead as they did with the 80 then $80 for community members ought to do it. And if price and practicality make these...

    Whew...

Points taken. However bad mining may be, iron ore and bauxite are not laying around on the surface of the planet for the easy processing other than in junk yards and recycling plants. True, glass is readily made from sand of which there is an abundance on the surface, even copious quantities...

    Whew...

I, OTOH, have no problem with ICEs that consume biofuels. Consider situations like landfills. Every city has at least one. They produce methane. Instead of letting it enter the atmosphere we harvest it to run an ICE that produces electricity. Therein lies one rub as far as the world going all...

    Scout II sighting onscreen

Just finished watching both seasons of Dark Winds and maybe you all know this already...a Scout II as a police vehicle in the Navajo Nation in the 1970s is in a supporting role and is (spoiler alert) summarily "crashed" or made to look so. In any event I highly recommend this...

Unfortunately Ineos has pushed back the Fusilier to the very back burner and turned the burner off.

    Scout motors dealers?

MSRP will be clearly displayed on the Monroney sticker. Dealer markup above that is always foolish to pay. If you mean you want to buy at below sticker that is different and would be inconsistent with a direct to consumer plan. Do keep in mind that even with direct sales (Ineos comes quickly...
