  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I'm pretty sure the owners manual in my Ram gives me the steps to disarm the chime (something to the effect of buckle/unbuckle three times in 60 seconds with the truck in accessory but not started). I'm hoping for something like this with the Scout. I understand the safety part of it, but I'd...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I’m not sure this has come up, but let us disable the seatbelt chime. I don’t care if there is a warning on the screen, but there are times in a vehicle where I don’t need or want to wear a seatbelt. Please let me disabled the chime.

    CLOSED! Audio System Brand Poll

B&O was somewhere between marginal and terrible in my Raptor. I really like the Harmon Kardon in my TRX.

What Was The Biggest Automotive Story Of 2024?

To me it would be something like this: EV News: The Scout and then the ultimate disaster of the new Dodge Charger ICE News: The return of Tim Kuniskis to Ram and possible resurrection of the Hellcat Engines

    Camp mode

I was thinking the same thing. It’s a “Oh Shit” handle for the middle seat.

    Scout Supply Merchandise Live

@Jamie@ScoutMotors is there a plan for stickers/window decals like your avatar? Just the white lettering would be cool.

    Scott Keogh's 2024 Holiday Message

I agree 100%. I’ve never reserved a vehicle before, nor have I ever had any interest in an EV. Yet here I sit with a reservation. I’m excited for Scout’s future.

2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger's Production Timeline Leapfrogs the EV

Dodge and Ram are not EV Brands. That’s not what their customer base is. The new Dodge Charger is an overpriced mess. I think with Tim back at the helm, he saw what was going on. Lots of rumors of Hellcat’s coming back, as well as a new gas powered V-8. The Ram Ramcharger really is where they...

    Too much AI

I’ve never experienced the whole hands free driving thing. That said, I won’t buy another vehicle that doesn’t have adaptive cruise. We do a lot of two lane highways with limited passing zones, and setting the adaptive cruise so it sets pace with the rest of traffic takes a lot of stress out of...

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

I have a hunch you and I are in the same boat on a lot of fronts. I’d love to have multiple vehicles for different uses, but the budget doesn’t allow for that. Vacation time is also a premium, and in my line of work taking two weeks off at a time normally isn’t an option. As a non EV owner...

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

Knowing that we will have access to Tesla’s charging system is good info. That may have been something I’ve missed along the way.

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

TFL is pretty legit. A couple of years ago they threw a camper on the bed of a Ford Lightning and took it to Alaska. Roman can be a little dramatic, but I don’t think his frustrations weren’t understandable with the charging issues he had...

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

@Jamie@ScoutMotors I appreciate you chiming in. Using different software is good to hear. Obviously you can’t do anything about charging stations that are down. What you can do is offer realistic range and reliable software. That’s what you can control. This video highlights a lot of my...

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

TFL just released a video road tripping the new VW Buzz, and it was a mess. The lack of range on the battery was one thing, but what’s worse is the GPS Routing Software that led them to charging stations that were down. This whole video is why a lot of us (me included) reserved the Harvester...

    Ram Bait and Switch...

Technically Ram had a pre-production model in March of 2023. It was a wild concept, but it was never a preorder vehicle. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2024-ram-1500-electric-pickup-features-coming-soon-dodge-daytona-ev/

What 16 Metro's Will Scout Launch?

I have a hunch that the whole state of Montana will be left out (we only have around a million people in the whole state). Getting the Scout serviced is one thing lingering in the back of my mind.

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

While not as far as you (2,400 miles), I’m having the same thoughts. Time of delivery will play a factor. Cutting across the country in the middle of winter wouldn’t be very fun.

    Wheel size options

An 18” Rim with 35” tires is fine. I’d prefer 17” wheels as well, but I have had no issue with the 18” wheel/35” tire setup on my TRX.

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I don’t do a lot of long distance trips like that. We have one trip each year to San Juan Island which is 550 miles one way, and then we catch a ferry. Having to add time in to charge on a trip like this would make me nervous. This is why I went with the Scout Traveler with the Harvester Range...
