  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    33 Months of EV driving...

So in a less elegant way, you’re saying you got to pay to play? The same can be said for a gas vehicle. The faster you go, the less range you get. I know in my truck once I get over 70mph and kind of fuel economy goes away. It comes down to how far I have to travel in a day, and how much I’m...

Charging a Scout with a Scout

I missed your thread, but it’s definitely on the same idea. I just remember waking up at 2am and wondering if you could charge one EV with another? It’s just something that kind of made sense to me, but at the same time I’m not an engineer, and not sure how this would work?

Charging a Scout with a Scout

So this was something that literally came to me in a dream last night. The idea was charging a Scout (or other EV) with another Scout. There’s been talk about EV’s running houses when there’s no power. But what about using one EV to charge another? Imagine a Scout is down to 5% battery, and...

    Automatic Retractable Electric Running Boards

White Knuckle makes my favorite rock sliders. Slightly bigger step than the factory rock rails on my TRX, but not something that gets in the way. At 6’8” I rarely need a step for a vehicle, so I get the long leg thing too.

    Automatic Retractable Electric Running Boards

I know more people who have had issues with electric steps than not. I’d rather see something like the rock rails on my truck, but with a slightly bigger step.

    Factory Pickup Temporarily Tags?

I bought a Dodge Challenger a few years back in Texas. The dealer put temporary tags on it and I drove it home. My TRX was ordered from a dealership in Utah and delivered to me in Montana with temporary Utah tags. It’s really not a big deal.

    2 door Terra option

A “Back to the Future” Scout would be bad ass!

Hot take: 18-22" Wheels on Base Model

I’m sure the 20” wheels with a 35” tire would be fine for most cases. I just prefer a smaller wheel with larger tires. To me the 18” rim with 35” tires would be the perfect fit. Unless they offer 37” tires, and then I want those with my 18” rims.

Exterior lights for camping or off road

I’ll pass on the chrome spinners as they are a bastard to clean when muddy. You don’t want to show up to Walmart with muddy spinners. Really hurts a persons credibility.

    Optional 37” Tires

37’s wouldn’t exactly help with the range of the Scout, but the 12 year old in me thinks it would look bitching! But again, I’m a child!

Exterior lights for camping or off road

The perimeter lighting could be included with the roof rack. Maybe even allow the driver to turn on lights built into the mirrors.

    Optional 2nd Row Captain Chairs

I like the option of second row captain chairs.

Hot take: 18-22" Wheels on Base Model

I’m in the 18” wheel camp myself. I want more sidewall for better off road performance and better on street ride quality. 22” rims with small sidewall is going to ride really stiff.

    Traveler without the Spare

Blow a side wall on your tire and that fix a flat does zero good. I’ll just keep the spare tire.

“Bike rack on trailer hitch” mode to disable rear parking sensors

I have a button on the dash of my truck to disable just the front or just the rear sensors. Seems like this would be a standard thing and not buried/dependent on software. But maybe that's just me.

    Questions about the Harvester

I'd just like to see a final answer. If Scout can come out and say what the Harvester will actually do and not do, then we can put the topic to bed. If you close this thread another will just pop up in a week or so. Might as well leave this one open and stay the course until somebody at Scout...

“Bike rack on trailer hitch” mode to disable rear parking sensors

Don’t most vehicles just have a switch on the dash to shut off the sensors?

    Questions about the Harvester

There are a lot more sophisticated answers here than what I can probably produce. For me "Gas and Go" would mean when the battery itself has been depleted, and the gas tank on the Harvester is around 1/4 tank, I'd be able to get gas and keep going at highway speeds on the gas motor itself. I...
