  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout branded, orange doggie doo-doo bags for those road side/rest stops. Come on……. You pet owners know you’d buy them ???

    Battery Life Cycle

I agree but the SSB bring nearly double the miles so at the beginning there will be a large premium for SSB to 1)-recoupe research/design/engineering as well as manuf start up costs and 2)-it’s more mileage so therefore it’s an upgradable option. It’s unfortunate but it is proper business...

Blind Spot Turn Signal Camera Displayed in Instrument Cluster

I agree. But I will say the first few weeks of driving on a 4 lane highway it was tough making the adjustment but once you finally experience no blind spot driving it really does change your life

Interesting quote from NY Times - VW + Rivian + Scout

I’d say it’s 100% accurate but to be clear it’s VWAG not VW. since VW is what we see in the U.S. it gets referenced but truth is VW hasn’t ever been able to successfully launch a rugged truck/SUV in this country. The irony is when Scott Keogh figured out the strategy, VW instantly thought they...

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

I think, based on other posts on this topic it’s not the engine that’s the limiting factor-it’s the tongue weight and general vehicle weight that allows successful towing at a heavier weight.

    Ideas for Scout Engineers

They have said the Scouts are to be a multi-tool so if it’s simple enough to accomplish it may work for the larger groups wanting to camp. Inflating a small air mattress over top would solve the comfort concern but having a relatively flat deck from front to back would be huge for many buyers...

    Scout Supply Binoculars

Being involved in archery I would buy those

    Ideas for Scout Engineers

I think based on seating heights versus floor height this would be nearly impossible to accomplish as far as height. I think something like Honda’s magic seat that folded completely flat is more ideal but maybe possible. I think the heights of the setbacks and gaps for leg room aren’t generally...

    Traveler without rear tire carrier

Definitely will be different. I do remember the designers saying they wanted them to be a bit different in the back-especially the decorative lighting elements

    Traveler without rear tire carrier

I believe we were told at the reveal that there would be a slightly different back panel on the traveler but nothing was clarified and that was over 4 months ago so my brain is getting a little hazy on what we heard during the 2 day whirlwind event

    Battery Life Cycle

Mercedes can afford to absorb early entry problems in that field since they are a luxury brand. As essentially a start up company SM can’t afford to take a hit if/when problems arise. It’s in their best interest to launch with known elements and products then consider the higher end upgrade at...

There was definitely some early on discussions about this as well so hoping they heard our requests

Not gonna argue as I’ve heard things but gotta be better than a VW dealership and the more online approach to sales and delivery. If nothing else maybe a delivery deal could be worked out and they get like 1% or something?

And yet another Kia design that takes the best of everyone else’s design elements and repackages them. Bench seat, wheels pushed to corners and boxy-ish design. Guess they are trying to capture the markets SM won’t be selling in https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a63942900/kia-concept-ev2-revealed/
