  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

I’m not sure where 50 miles of range is normal. In Southern California many people’s commutes start at 30-50 miles each way and if you throw any curveballs into that it’s a problem. If you are engineering for 2027 launches the car needs to be ahead of where the market is currently. Don’t forget...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Doubtful, the scout isn’t a phev with a small battery which is auxiliary to ICE, it’s the other way around which means maintaining battery health for longevity will be critical - ie 80% charge

Satellite system - please do not have StarLink or anything Musk sponsored as a vendor or have multiple provider options.

I do not want any of my hard earned dollars going to Musk

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

I think part of the problem is that by 2027 we will have EVs that get 450-500 miles of range so the specs of the product aren’t skating ahead of the puck to where the market is going. We don’t really have any useful information to work with regarding weight/battery sized trade offs. If the range...

    Questions about the Harvester

It’s actually not. People in California can easily have 50 mile commutes which is 100 miles round trip. If you are carrying the extra weight of the battery around you shouldn’t have to dip into the gas engine on the daily. I have two evs and can tell you the range estimates in winter vary...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

I have two evs, I can tell you that 100miles per day in a city like Los Angeles where people travel distance is in no way adequate. You might as well buy an ICE car at that point. With a 2027 launch date they should thru efficiency and available at the time battery tech get north of 200 miles or...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

The range extender should get at least 50% of its 500 mile range in pure EV mode otherwise it would be pretty worthless with only 150 miles that you can only get in ideal conditions. In the winter this likely means sub 100 miles pure EV range - not acceptable

    Questions about the Harvester

150 miles would be under ideal conditions. In the winter it would be less than 100. Add in hills and you are worse than that. They should spec for at least 250 miles of EV range w the extender providing the other half.

    Questions about the Harvester

150 miles of range on EV only is extremely disappointing unless the battery is radically smaller and there is a meaningful weight benefit.

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Currently have an EQS and have zero love for one pedal driving. The EQS has paddle shifters to adjust the level of brake regen manually and on the fly - effectively it serves as a synthetic down shift and provides a much more interactive driving experience. I believe the Ioniq has this as well...
