  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Factory Pick Up - Cost and what does it include?

I love that phrase “edible feelings”! You’ll be quoted… :)

Factory Pick Up - Cost and what does it include?

Sounds like fun - and as Cyure says; I hope everyone gets what they want! When I lived in CO a group I worked with loved to camp in the passes - called themselves the tree-liners… I had a Scout then and followed along a couple of times - lots of cool people and wildlife, but I was almost...

    FB find of the day

Totally agree - but it was like they had a fire sale on lots of other properties to get it…. Sold low and bought high kind of thing.

    FB find of the day

Agreed - my wife is in corporate real estate and Ford used to be her company’s client, she saw them make lots of “odd” decisions selling properties and then buying the train station…

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I thought I read somewhere that the Ford locking you describe could be accomplished via Forescan…

    Re-think Headlight Design

I see the bronco problem, but I actually kinda like it… But I also like the Scout as designed.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

As Roseann Roseanna Dan used to say! I miss Gilda Radner and those days of SNL…
  9. maynard

    What was your first car?

Yep - my brother was the good son, and me…. Well, not so good… :-)

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

    Sounds cool though…
  11. maynard

    What was your first car?

Yep - he was a military guy who did stuff like that… Also put small pieces of tape on the outside of my bedroom window and discovered I had been sneaking out at night…

    What was your first car?

Ok, so I did think I got away with “borrowing” my parents car at 15 when they went away on a church outing… Come to find out that my dad had placed twigs behind two of the tires to see if they were broken! I think I was grounded for a month during summer break and had to paint the house…

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

I have an electric Cub Cadet Zero Turn - love it! Does the whole yard with 40%, so I get 2 cuts per charge...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

I have and will use an L2 Charger (currently charges our Volvo S60, used to charge our ELR)...
  15. maynard

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

Switch your reservation to a BEV... Oh, and Welcome to the forum!
  16. maynard

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

Maybe - but I am definitely not one who would buy an ICE-only Scout. My wife and I have been driving hybrids for 11 years and the last two have been PHEV. If they had been EREV I would be willing to wait longer for a Scout and possibly switch to BEV if there was closer to a 500 mile range...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

Are the mail delivery folks using Amish horses and wagons? :)

    Scout delayed??

I think SM formed in May of '22...
  19. maynard

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

The funny part is I'm gonna have to put it on my Expedition by the end of the month so I'll have 2 years of weird looks and comments... :) I had decided to get it now because there was news that custom plate prices were gonna go way up here...
