  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

https://www.theautopian.com/lamborghini-kills-its-first-ev-because-there-are-close-to-zero-buyers-for-ev-sports-cars/ With VW shifting more towards hybrid than BEV, and being short on cash, I'd be worried if my Scout reservation was BEV. I'm sure there are conversations on-going behind the...

I keep thinking the same thing with most new Chinese vehicles. They just asked AI for a blend of different vehicles and picked the result they liked the best. To be fair, it's not a bad approach, and I've seen MANY AI-vehicle renderings that look better than most new cars on the road.

    All terrain tires

I'm just hoping someone starts making some lighter mud-terrains. Those heavy beasts are really hard on range, but ATs just don't do it for my use case.

    Scout Gift "Unboxed"

I'm curious to see the print quality. I might just scan the original in and re-print it with no fold marks. Scanning it at 1200dpi should give me a solid result, and any difference in matte/glossy, etc probably won't be seen once framed behind glass anyway. That gives me something to frame...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I don't miss New England winters. I wasn't happy with the 3F we hit a few weeks ago here in the Carolinas. The old Trane heat pumps weren't doing crap in those temperatures.

I'd hate to be in charge of pricing something that's releasing so soon with all of the financial/import world in such turmoil. Back to reduced tariffs today, but next week? They'll likely be back in another form. It probably helps that Rivian has been bringing more production in-house instead...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

That really is the beauty of the newer heat pumps in EVs. Resistive heat is not your friend in a house or an EV. I haven't taken a deep dive into the newer EV heat pumps, but I'm familiar with house heat pumps. The newer house units are still effective down to -10 or so, a far cry from what...

Sitting for hours, stuck on the turnpike at 3 degrees might be a problem though. Maybe that's just my experience, haha.

Compared to your Jeep, the Scout will likely also churn your stomach when accelerating hard!

We got the butter part! ;) Scout will be using AI to review and consolidate forum color requests into a formally-announced color palette in the coming year. It'll see a lot of PBY references and then see the peanut butter jokes and latch on, erroneously. I might wet myself laughing, which...

Hard pass if I ever saw peanut butter that color in the grocery store.

That second one might be getting too close to @cyure 's Peanut Butter Yellow. :ROFLMAO:

That's what Rivian did. They weren't producing the configuration I wanted yet, so they bumped my reservation down. They did give me the option to change my preferences to get a vehicle sooner though.

Dark meat or white meat? Both could actually be really good colors, haha. I'd love for Scout to use creative color names like this.

I think a lot of the deposit will depend on how flexible Scout is with selecting options. If most of the options are boring like Rivian, they'd be able to sell your vehicle to the next person in line with the same configuration without taking a financial hit. Hopefully Scout chooses to allow a...

    Off-topic stuff…

Holy crap, speaking of washer fluid, when did it get so expensive?!? Usually mine's filled up during an oil change for "free", but I ran out last week. $5.49/gallon, on sale and not even the cold weather stuff, what the heck? Wipers got expensive too. I ended up getting them from the...

    Off-topic stuff…

Agreed, and this is the huge unknown for us still. How much of the Scout will be dealer-only service, how will parts be purchased, and how inconvenient will the service centers be? The closest Rivian service was 4 hours from me for a long while. NOT ideal. I'm used to a dealer picking up my...

    Ideal Small Sized Vehicle

Pretty much a Suburban version of a Tahoe, in Scout form.
