  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Re-think Headlight Design

I'd originally tried just an outline around the headlight areas, but it didn't look right to my eye. There's a lot more depth to the plastic trim around the headlight lenses than my crude drawing shows though, so I think a chrome or shinier metal would pick up some cool reflections from the...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

So you're saying to spam more AI crap? If AI self-implodes, all of those power plants for the data centers will mean cheaper power for EV owners, right? :ROFLMAO:

New Scout Video: Forging the Future - The Sound Of Scout

I wanna see more details on the white and silver Scouts with what appear to be 3D-printed parts. The whole vehicle design process fascinates me.

Hope Scout lawyers jump on that one fast and get themselves added to the bill.

    Re-think Headlight Design

I support any manufacturer that allows an owner working on their own vehicles!

    Re-think Headlight Design

Realistically, this should just be a few swappable plastic panels, so you'd have options.

    Change of Heart?

There's always a love-hate relationship with a big manufacturing facility moving into a small rural community. Lots of opposition up front because nobody wants a behemoth in their backyard.

    Re-think Headlight Design

I got to thinking about this more, and the current front mask could almost work for me, there's just too much black. Without changing the lights or layout, throwing some silver (or God-forbid chrome) trim in the mix could give me some later Scout II vibes in the center section to give me more...

    Change of Heart?

Was "Blythwood" a typo, or is that a local thing? I noticed the same spelling on the prototype vehicle tag.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Honda never believed in the immediate transition to EV anyway, so I'm surprised they're writing down so much loss on this.

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

Kia discontinued the Soul last year, so their hamsters are likely unemployed. They'll probably work for peanuts. https://www.thedrive.com/news/goodbye-hamsters-the-kia-soul-is-dead

More people looking at EVs, and meanwhile Honda is cancelling their plans and writing off big losses. https://electrek.co/2026/03/12/honda-scraps-three-most-important-evs-us/

Can we get a frunk monkey for ads?

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

25+ years with the same small firm. I won't do commercial simply because I don't have commercial construction experience. If I'm designing something, I know I can go out there and build it myself, exactly how I've drawn it.

I think that face is even uglier than the Lexus LM!

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

There's way too much evidence of Germany's influence in the factory and vehicles for me to believe they're truly independent, but I really don't know where that line is. I think the vehicle design and decisions are pretty independent from VW, but they've also got a lot more access to VW...

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

Yup, residential. Framer/builder originally, plus years working in a custom Jeep shop during school. I might be at a desk mostly nowadays, but I've still got the twisted/crude blue-collar humor. :ROFLMAO:

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

I don't think VAG can compete with Byd on EVs, and with Byd moving into Europe more, VW will have a rough go of it. The US EV landscape isn't pretty, but at least the legacy automaker lobbying is keeping China out for now. @cyure is right though in that the shared vehicle architecture between...

    FB find of the day

Probably the same consultants that told Circuit City to fire all the knowledgeable people in lieu of minimum wage workers that didn't know crap about tech. Short-sighted gains, at best. Get rid of the high-paid guys that understand all of the systems and replace them with mostly new draftsmen...
