  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Headlight & DRL Color Temperature Changed?

I'd love to have amber DRLs instead of white, but I remember him saying something about that as well.

Headlight & DRL Color Temperature Changed?

I'm mostly curious about how Scout is going to get decent light output out of those narrow gunslit housings. I suspect we'll see the shape change some, but they've got access to Audi lighting engineers, so I'm hoping for some cool headlights. I only ever see LED headlights in the 5000k range...

    Off-topic stuff…

I'm not sure manufacturers are reading the room correctly. Maybe it's not the EV that people have the problem with, it's the embracing of the tablet-on-wheels idea that most nobody wants. Hopefully Scout proves me right, but I feel like they're actually listening to what people and automotive...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

I hate automatic headlights enough that I disassembled the light sensor on my current daily driver to modify it more to my preferences. It works 10x better than it did from the factory, but I still need manual control on occasion. I much prefer my older vehicles with a simple knob because they...

    Scout Color Poll #1

Every time I see a matte vehicle, it reminds me of the old NuFinish 2000 commercials from decades ago. :ROFLMAO: I just wanna shine it up!

    Scout Color Poll #1

The white on brownish gives me kid diaper flashbacks, so my vote is an emphatic NO.

What goodies have you gotten from a dealer/manufacturer after purchasing a car

So much loot. The usual key chains, hats, t-shirts, promotional packages with concept sketches, mints, private movie screening with dinner, calendar, branded totes, etc. My favorite was the t-shirt from MINI with my production number (in the guise of an odometer reading) on it since it was one...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Probably a bit jaded from companies like Tesla... :ROFLMAO:

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

The ubiquitous person falling while running from Jason's calm walking pace, followed by Scout's "We might fall, but we get back up. Reintroducing the Scout Traveler/Terra"

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I'm more inclined to believe Jamie when he says they're not over budget, though I guess it depends if we're talking about the factory, or development costs and Scout as a whole. https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/change-of-heart.7555/#post-75205

Coincidence that it corresponds with Spring Break timing? I think not. Second best alternative to summer camp!

Exclusive: Hyundai Mobis in talks with Volkswagen-owned Scout on multibillion-dollar deal

That'd make sense since Scout said they'd be building batteries in the supplier park. Link With 2.3 million square feet of space in the park, they'd have plenty left over based on the 500k square foot Mobis battery plant size in Spain. If the building is already under construction and mostly...

Exclusive: Hyundai Mobis in talks with Volkswagen-owned Scout on multibillion-dollar deal

I can't find much in the way of other Mobis to South Carolina connections, but they do have this guy relatively close to Blythewood/Charlotte: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kyunghoon-kim-6b584416a

Exclusive: Hyundai Mobis in talks with Volkswagen-owned Scout on multibillion-dollar deal

This aligns with previous reporting which gives more information on the BSA, though not Scout specific. "The Hyundai Mobis built BSA is more than just the battery pack for VWs upcoming next-generation EV. These assemblies will include the power storage component but also the battery management...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

If the rumor of using Hyundai Mobis for batteries instead of PowerCo turns out to be true, it'd definitely be easier to argue they're more independent and less of a VAG offshoot. Branching out to more suppliers and using less of the traditional VW supply chain as a whole would be very helpful...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Without access to the elements required to make EV motors and batteries, as well as storage batteries for the grid, I feel like we'd still be reliant on other countries to a greater extent. I think that's a big reason behind the Greenland push- to allow us better access to certain minerals that...

How much more would you pay for a Launch Edition Scout

Exactly. I'd happily take it for free, same way I'd happily take a free launch edition winch from Scout (hint, hint). I have no interest in the Autonomy, but I wouldn't turn it down.

How much more would you pay for a Launch Edition Scout

The launch edition appears to be a no-charge option for the Performance edition. The Performance is $4k above the Premium, but that's buying you a lot of mechanical hardware as well. For free, I'd take it, IF I wanted the Performance edition, even if I only want the tow package out of the...
