  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Scout delayed??

Before people get too depressed, the Scout FAQ still says production starts in 2027 (FAQ link). The main change is that they now specifically state that they will "prioritize EREV models for first production." I don't know if prioritizing Traveler is also new (FAQ link), but they are...

I love the alt-text on that one: "Now that I've finally gotten an electric vehicle, I'm never going back to an acoustic one."

    Frunk

That is a Doctor Who reference (if you are not a fan, "it's bigger on the inside" is a common comment about his Tardis).

So, what you are saying is you want it bigger on the inside? 😁

Ford’s future small BEV vs Terra

I would actually prefer a smaller truck than the Scout Terra. The size that Ford is promising sounds like it would be perfect for my needs. But, I won't get a Ford due to the dealerships. I have had to use several of the Ford dealerships in my area for sales and service, and have had a terrible...

    Scout Configuration Tool

So, visualizer available for Christmas 2026, and order/configuration tool available for Christmas 2027. Not that I'm thinking of these as gifts or anything... 😁

    Scout Patents

I tried the links on a PC (Firefox on Fedora Linux) and I got the same "unauthorized" for both links. I can open PDF files fine.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

I did not realize that that you can buy crocs that give a status bump. Can to share the location of your mechant's shop? 😁

As we get closer to launch. Feature Requests & Real‑World Feedback for Scout

To support what you describe ("fold the back seats down to expand the truck bed") would require a unibody design. The Terra is definitely not a unibody, so I am 99.9% sure they will not do this.

    Harvester

I see two big problems with this suggestion: The weight/size of the generator. To provide the power necessary to support the truck as an EREV, you would need at least 70HP. A 25HP portable generator weights over 200 pounds. Any engine powerful enough to to support the truck as an EREV would...

    Ideal Small Sized Vehicle

I wonder if Scout is considering making a smaller pickup in the near future? I'm thinking of something about the same size as the Ford Maverick. That seems like the size Ford is targeting with their new EV truck, though I think the styling is going to be an issue since Ford is focusing on...

Maybe they are sneaking that feature into the watches without telling anyone. Then when you pick up your Scout, they casually mention that the Scout branded watches can be used as a fob for the vehicle. 😁

If you don't want carry house keys, you can get programmable door lock. This one can be unlocked with a phone, a finger print, a code, or a physical key: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Keyless-Control-Fingerprint-Touchscreen/dp/B0G3PGDFRD There are others that include a fob for unlocking. There...

I would not expect them to have final specs anytime soon. If Scout intends to follow the industry and releases new vehicles at the end of the year (2028 models released in Fall of 2027), we will likely see final specs for the Scouts in the summer of 2027.

Harvester Battery Stage of Charge Question

Remember that the amount of power a EREV truck has bears no relation to how powerful the gasoline engine is. The gasoline engine is just part of the electrical generator set (motor and alternator, aka genset), the truck's power comes from it's battery and electric motors. There are several...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

According to a previous post by Jamie, the spare tire carrier will not be easily removable. What I mean is, it isn't designed to be as simple as "unlock and lift off". That's because of safety/weight concerns. As mentioned here and by another Scout Rep (I don't remember which one), the frunk is...

Wow, I have not thought about Alpha Motors in a while. I loved the truck renders they had, but I could tell right away that the company was selling smoke.

Thanks for sharing CP1. You know - running power to the backpack opens up a range of possibilities, far beyond a refrigerator insert.
