  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

How would you build your Scout?

I’ve never been a fan of yellow on trucks and large vehicles but that looks awesome.

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

I doubt any would do that while driving. My Tesla certainly doesn’t. If you were not moving and took the seat belt off and lifted off the seat it might put it from drive into park, I can't remember, but definitely not while driving.

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

Well in the emergency situation of a tornado or something needing a quick exit no button is better because you just get out and it turns off without having to press anything.

What does the base model look like to you?

I’d be thinking maybe: -cloth/vinyl seats -no memory seats -no heated or ventilated seats -lower sound system quality/less speakers or sub. -33” wheels maybe with all season rather than off road tires -less options in the infotainment screen and possibly a smaller screen -smaller battery maybe...

    Battery Range Exrender

I’d worry how easy it is to add a range extender. Let’s not forget that Tesla had that for preorder on the Cybertruck and they must have had some issue either on cost or workability that made them cancel it. It would also be large and heavy if it’s going to add any meaningful range. Otherwise a...

    Harvester towing

If you use BMI (which I know is not fully reliable as a healthy weight guide) then if you are 6’4 or taller then being 150lbs would be an unhealthily low weight. You can also be just over 150lbs at 5’6 and still be a healthy weight according to BMI so plenty of healthy people are never going to...

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

For me it’s two taps to do that or one voice command against hundreds of times not having to press a button for no reason when I get in to drive or when I get out so worth it for me.

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

Funny you say that, I was actually at the drive in last night. Quick change in settings to turn walk away lock off and lights set to keep off and it powered down while we watched outside. Lost 0% charge while I was there. Last time we went a storm came through half way so we sat in the car with...

    Battery Life Cycle

Also, if a major established manufacturer tried them in one of their models, at least if it didn't work out they have others to fall back on. Imagine if Scout went with solid state and was one of or the first to do so and then 2 years later all of them started failing. It would pretty much end...

    Accelleration

I think for me, the acceleration in a truck is not really a factor (at least when it's already under 5 or 6 seconds anyways). I've had a Chevy Camaro SS, TVR Cerbera, Audi RS5, VW Golf R, and they were all really fun and fast but also built as cars that are supposed to be sporty and quick. For...

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

I’d be surprised if it was necessary. Even my Tesla you can use without the app if you want, the app just enhances it (remote climate control, sentry viewing, vent windows, send directions to navigation in advance, etc.)

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

My Tesla has a keycard (credit card size) that you can keep in your wallet. You can give that to a valet and put the car in valet mode to limit speed and access to certain things (glovebox etc.). You can use the card instead of the phone if you want as well.

July 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

I know, I'm impatient as well but I keep telling myself if it was released today I'm not really ready for a new vehicle right now anyways so I'd likely be waiting another 2-3 years anyways so I'm hoping the release will time perfectly with when I want to change.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Yeah I haven't looked recently but when they first came out they were about $15,000 above MSRP near me. One of the reasons I'm hoping Scout is successful is doing direct to consumer sales.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It's a shame the range is so bad on those, I think they look cool and if for the same price they could do 300 miles on a charge and maybe have a higher peak charging rate as well, it would be a good buy.

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

At least on Ford it says Power Start/Stop vs Engine Start/Stop on the ICE F-150.

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

I know on mine you can change the setting for walk away door lock so you can leave it open easily. You can also leave it running, including having the outlets for power/phone charging turned on when you're away from the vehicle (obviously mine isn't a truck so doesn't have full power outlets but...

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

There is a lock/unlock button on the main screen. If the doors are locked when you're in it and someone tries to get in it also makes a bigger pop up you can just press to open (assuming you want them to open the door).
  19. Chaz26

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

I like how Tesla does it, vehicle wakes up when I open the door but isn't ready to drive. Once I put my foot on the brake then I can put it into gear and start driving. Once I put it in park that stops the driving mode and then when I get out it will auto turn off. I also have a setting to leave...

    Must haves to purchase…

Yep, one of the things that made me reserve the Terra was dimensions closer to an F-150. If it turned out to be closer to Tacoma size then that would be a dealbreaker for me.
