  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I said: Take the Scout Terra and make it so it is on an off road course. Change the paint color to a deep metallic red. On the others I just said keep the same color with background changes. It does look really good though!

A couple more to show the Terra some love

I asked for the Terra to be on an off road course and the color changed to a deep red. Which now that I'm seeing it, that might be the color I'd actually go for if it was available.

They'll probably just buy them and shut the company down if that happens.

I would personally count a Platinum F-150 as luxury. Using the ICE version, I would say XL, STX are kind of base; the XLT is kind of middle of the road, Lariat is a little bit nicer, and then King Ranch and Platinum are luxury (in my eyes).

Will harvester models be "maintenance free" like their EV siblings?

Is anything else needed in the Lightning to do that conversion in terms of the additional weight/size of the extended range or is it just take out the one and replace with the other?

I would definitely wait for the BEV if there was a year delay. My personal options are going to be either wait until the BEV is released, or if there was some crazy delay, look at alternative BEV options like F-150 Lightning in the interim. Hopefully that won't be necessary though.

    Rivian Rs2 vs Scout Traveler

Yeah, I was not getting Old Fart from OF either when I first saw it!

    List Price

This is kind of my take as well, luxury or not, I tend to compare vehicles of similar size/type and in the same price bracket, which for the R1S, nearly all alternatives are what I would call luxury vehicles.

when does production begin ..pLEASE HURRY UP

It’s whether they do BEV first because they started developing it first or Harvester because it has the most orders. Hoping it’s BEV since I have the least popular order of Terra and BEV! I’m leaving towards BEV being first because I imagine less potential issues from that model initially...

    Make steering wheel sportier

I wonder if something like that keeping everything on could be achieved using one of those aux buttons by the steering wheel, which would only be one flick of a switch too. Maybe you could even have a sub menu so it could be configured to keep everything on, just climate, or some other...

    Make steering wheel sportier

I'm not certain, my guess would be no, since it would still start up off the regular EV battery initially and then the Harvester part would come on later but I'm happy to be corrected.

    What’s your hobby

Mine is out of an airport so not a layover, and actually setting foot on the ground rather than just driving through. I haven't spent a night in every state but I've spent at least a little time in each state on the ground, and I think, but not 100% certain, that I've ate a meal in every state...

    Make steering wheel sportier

Since it's not necessary on EVs I hope they perhaps have both options available, and those who don't want it can have it deleted, and those who do want it can have it included. I'm not sure how much difference that would make in terms of cost/software, I'd hope not too much but that would be a...

I wonder how many different builds the average person on this forum will do when that is released!

That looks like a fun trip :ROFLMAO: This would be the actual road trip to get it done:

    What’s your hobby

Thankfully I already have Hawaii and Alaska ticked off my list. I basically need to drive on the edge of ND/SC and go into MN and then drive straight down to LA (dipping into OK on the way down), turn right to go through MS and AL and then come straight back up towards home in PA and I'll be done!

    What’s your hobby

I don't know if I have what I would call many hobbies, cars have always been a big hobby of mine, maybe less so as I get older. I've taken up pickleball with my wife which is fun, and our other main hobby if you can call it that it is traveling. The Scout will definitely fit in nicely for that...

Speculation - will Scout use the new EV battery announced by VW?

Yeah mine (Telsa Model 3 with heat pump) wasn't too bad last year when we went to Quebec at the end of January. That was around -20 or below and we didn't have a charger at the place we were staying. Used up a couple of percent to defrost and heat up but certainly was livable. If I lived in...

Question about Pedal Feel and Driving Characteristics

You can select roll or creep as your stopping modes as well as hold on my Tesla. I only do hold so not sure if the regen is as strong on the other ones but just allows the car to roll or if it’s more like two pedal driving. I’ll have to try it out briefly next time I go out.
