  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Hopefully they’ll have good entertainment options. I can watch Netflix and also have YouTube TV for live TV in my Tesla which is great. I use that when my wife goes into clothes or makeup stores while we’re out shopping so it’s useful even when not charging 😂

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

If that is true (and not being replaced by something else) then that will be one less competitor against the Terra. Shame if it is though, I quite liked the Lightning.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I haven't been to any, or fully read into the Walmart chargers other than I'm aware they're doing it. Do you know if they will be putting both NACS and CCS cables on their chargers from the get go? The more stations between now and then that have both or just NACS the better to save needing...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

If Scout actually beat RAM to market with the EREV that wouldn't actually surprise me with how many delays RAM have had on this. Ford could be a potential competitor, but I think the Lightning will definitely need to have a good refresh by 2028 in order to compete with Scout.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I assume if it has a similar maintenance schedule of ICE cars of say 5,000 miles / 6 months that it will have to log how many miles are done with the engine running. I imagine a lot of people would be based on time rather than miles driven since a lot of day to day driving will be on EV only...

Test drove a couple Wranglers today…

I test drove a Cybertruck a couple of months ago while my car was getting inspected. The one I drove didn't really have any rattles. It was quick and pretty comfortable, but driving it just felt weird, I don't know how to describe what the issue was, it just felt strange to drive compared to...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I am going with BEV but I do have a question linked to what would it take to switch from EREV to BEV like free home charger installation. I'm curious, for those who are planning on the EREV, are you planning on installing L2 home charging, or just using the L1 charging through the standard wall...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This is what I will be interested to see as well, how much is the difference from a potentially smaller battery pack to the largest and what is the range/cost difference between the two. I don't think they necessarily need a 200+ kWh battery like the Silverado, but having at least 150 kWh...

Where should the 240V outlet be?

I would say in the truck bed similar to where most have them today would be my preference if they can only do one. If it's possible to also fit one (perhaps as an option) where the 5-15 outlets are in the charge port area (assuming it would fit there) then that would be great, either to have two...

Please allow for the use tire chains

You can get winter tires that are studded, but also ones that are not. The compound in the tires is different to all season/summer tires which allow them to work better in colder temperatures (typically best below 45f or 7c). The tread design is also more aggressive to help get through snow. You...

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

I'm slightly concerned by those figures as well, especially at the lower end of 120 kWh. I believe the Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat with a 131 kWh battery has an EPA range of 320 miles. I'm not sure how they will get 350 miles with that battery size, certainly not with the 35" tires. I still...

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

I think for most new people, it will be getting used to any range anxiety, so probably plugging in early than what I do to start with (10-20% range), and we'll all learn once it is out and tested what the charging curve looks like and how best to plan stops.

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

And that it one good thing with the Telsa charging curve, I can get a quick charge and be on my way if I'm doing a quick stop to grab a snack, but it also slows down so much after 50% that I can also do a full restroom stop and get something to eat without it getting close to 100% either...

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

I'm probably in the minority but when I'm on road trips I try and get to the charger around 1-3% to maximize my initial range and then I charge to 45-50% and I'm off to the next stop if one is needed. That's partly due to the charging curve in my Tesla though, it gets slow after 50%. If I had a...

    Ev Delay

Yeah I agree on the election part. I think as long as people will buy them if they are ready to go in 2027 or early 2028 which I'm sure they will then it won't be an issue. If no one was willing to buy them until after the election that would be another thing but I don't see that happening. I'd...

    actual ranges before orders?

It depends if the 350 they are hoping for is real world or EPA. If it’s EPA then like most manufacturers real world may be a little less. The other thing is the 350 is likely to be on a specific wheel and tire combination (the most efficient), so if you get 35” tires with all terrain tires the...
