  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

How do you plan to kit out your interior?

NEMA 14-50 and -30 are found at RV site posts. I’ve had the 50a not function (or not on the post at some parks) and used the 30, or the friend uses the 50 for their RV, and sometimes houses have the 30 rather than the 50 outside. My charger at work is a 14-30. Generally, RV posts are my Plan...

How do you plan to kit out your interior?

The hair dryer is to melt ice from frozen charge port doors…would love if Scout engineers had a port defrost. Otherwise, hair dryer. Also, if it’s actively snowing I’ve had snow blow in and you don’t get good male side connection (insert jokes here as you wish!), and the hair dryer or a small...

Is There Any Comparison Data to Other Brands on GVW, Body Dimensions, Off-Road Angles

Rock crawling isn’t homogeneous. Depends on the trail. Wranglers are small with good turning ratios…serious rockcrawlers improve this with hydraulics. But some trails a longer wheelbase is favorable (not with tight turns or trees though, mostly). Lightweight isn’t always ideal. Mine had Dana...

Agree with your list…Utility trucks are easy to make city street legal and serve a lot of general purpose running around, too…we see a lot of these running around small towns.

I’m curious about the flame resistant raincoat…are you driving up blowing volcanoes? I feel that normally flames and rain are mostly mutually exclusive…

    Scout Color Poll #1

True matte can be hard to take care of…rubbing it makes it shiny. One reason why matte is usually done as a vinyl wrap.

Your state’s 24 hours in a day in the life of a Scout adventure

What a fun question! In Fargo definitely have to pop by the zoo and meet my wolf puppies…well, now my 85 lb puppies, and Logan, the black-footed ferret. Definitely lunch or dinner at Rhombus Guys. From Fargo it’s breakfast either at The Shack on Broadway or, at the very least, a Blue Monster...

I drive a Tesla and I’m not angry about the protests. I’m not even angry about the fires. Musk just shouldn’t have entered politics…and he’s destroying a lot of really good things, and peoples lives with it. I understand. I love National Parks and I’m worried for them. But, first and...

But it shifts behavior, and not for the better. If you’re Japan buying soybeans from North Dakota and all of a sudden those soybeans are 25% more expensive, or rumored will be, you look to buy from somewhere else. And even if US is like, eh, never mind, just kidding…the trust is gone. You want...

I am in finance for a manufacturing facility. Here’s how that can play out…of course there’s a zillion different scenarios for different manufacturers. A U.S. manufacturer builds a machine paying the US factory guys over $30/hr with full benefits. A lot of parts…castings, hydraulics, deer...

I’d actually put this down to the driver disengaging. I think it’d be difficult to not jerk your hand or step on the brake in imminent collision. Human action absolutely always takes precedence over Autopilot features. If you’re at any speed it’ll go nuts if it doesn’t feel torque on the yoke...

Both mine were built in Fremont and have been solid. It seems like a CT specific issue.

    Whinin’ and cryin’

Just a little whining and crying that I still have 2.5 years to wait. Hoping for sympathetic pats on the head from others who understand, lol.
