  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Using an EV for backup power in case of power outage

So that's what I'll be doing then which is a very elegant solution. As a reminder, the Terra was shown with a 240V outlet, hopefully they can find a spot for one on Traveler.

Using an EV for backup power in case of power outage

So when I wired my home to charge our EV, I simply had a 240V outlet installed next to our driveway. We then plug an L2 charger into that and use it, with the idea being over time that L2 charger will change but the outlet/wiring will remain. So in order to enable home backup, could I have that...

Using an EV for backup power in case of power outage

As you guys know this very much piques my interest as the power company here in Northern California, PG&E, sucks and outages happen way more often than they should. I'd be interested to know everyone's opinions on V2H enabled home chargers. Ford makes one, GM makes one, but those are both for...

There you go, yeah basically in that realm which again has proven popular. Would love to see it.

    Google Gemini AI Scout Images

That is a color I recommended early on in the color thread (1950's Volkswagen "Dove Blue") and is one Scout should seriously consider. It's essentially Ford's "Area 51" or Toyota's "Calvary Blue" which have both proven very popular.

Wow this is really interesting and yeah I love my Anker power station. The one thing that kills this new product line for me is buying an EV that supports V2H. Why pay thousands/tens of thousands for a big battery pack system when I have all the power I need parked in my driveway? To that...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Yes this is an old post by now, but you inspired me to check the Street View drive by Google did back in August of 2024. I'd like to think the two cars parked in front are Scout's benchmarks.

    Scout Patents

Maybe drops the air suspension into a Carolina Squat to make it easier to reach over and change the baby in the trunk or a reverse squat so you could do it in the frunk?

Interesting comment and before I reply I'm going to have a look at the EX30 and EX90 interiors below... EX30 interior EX90 interior Not sure why the interior of the EX60 would be anything other than a middle ground split between the two. In other words, nobody should be surprised here. That...

Traveler or Terra for Road Trips/Daily

Traveler. For the handful of times a year I need extra cargo capacity, I'll just rent a U-Haul trailer for $20.

Sadly many those vehicles could only move off lots with heavy heavy manufacturer, dealer, and tax incentives. Will be interesting to see how 2026 shakes out given that tax incentives are gone and mfrs rightsize the supply.

Preparing an EV for a winter storm...

I bought one of these a couple weeks ago after a power outage... I have a bunch of Ryobi tools and thus a bunch of those battery packs that, until now, were useless for anything other than the tools themselves. Nice to have an additional energy source I can tap into when the power goes out next...

    Jeep Recon

Not sure if it was discussed previously, but the Recon's interior was done under the watch of Chris Benjamin who led Jeeps interior design before joining Scout to become Chief of Design. I'd be very curious to know what specific ethos he purposely carried over and integrated into Scout.

This is amazing news. I'm very familiar with gov't contract vehicles like Sourcewell along with others like NASPO ValuePoint, GSA, etc. They play a huge role in procurement for SLED customers because they eliminate the expensive and time intensive RFP process since a competitive price is already...

Just worth pointing out you got a  from Aileen. With that said, @aileen.barraza, would love to hear your thoughts on what's been posted in the 70+ pages of the Scout Color Poll thread. IMO Cyure's Pale Butter Yellow is a slam dunk, would love to know if there are any other colors posted...

    Launch Edition

That was me! :D I called it the Scout Community Package. The Community gives input on what's included in the bundle, we get some kind of discount for our efforts (and to get some kit out in the hands of customers fast), and it becomes a bundle that regular customers can buy...but with the added...

    Launch Edition

I'm going for an "everything you need, nothing you don't approach with this car which means no loaded up Launch Edition and I'll be closer to the lower end of the price range. If they go the Launch Edition route and push the rest of us to the back of the line then I'm probably looking at a 2029...
