  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Damn those are sweet. Porsche will cut through the wind rather nicely. The bus might be more of an aerodynamic drag on things. Let's see where the final numbers come out for Traveler. I'm sure there will also be a whole lot of YouTube video tests trying to push the limits right away.

Local Day 1 Reservation Holder Also Interested in Product Testing

Welcome to the Scout Community! Truthfully the list of people offering to test vehicles has been so large we couldn’t even track them all. 😁 Being close to the factory could be a benefit to you in the future as we plan to have a customer experience center with an off-road course. In fact, I...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

No, sorry, that is an employee gift. Hopefully things should be shipping soon.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Under normal use it will run out of fuel first before running out of battery. So you can gas and go. For many smaller towing needs (boats, flatbed race car trailer, overland tent trailer) the Terra Harvester may be fine for your use. You might have to drive slower in some conditions to conserve...

China has a similar geographic size issue like the US where people need to drive long distances and the infrastructure is still young. So EREV for now makes sense for some people.

    March 14-15 Overland Expo Socal

Eventually yes. But hardcore gearhead events like Overland and SEMA require something a bit better than a fragile, hand-built concept. We will be there in the future though.

    Center Screen

And room for people's legs in the center bench seat. :D
  8. Jamie@ScoutMotors

    Center Screen

Actually, the bench seat option and the required clearance (plus airbag deployment) dictated the rectangular screen more than anything.

Coastal Vibes: The “Pacific Mist” Scout Traveler Concept

You will be able to order it with or without. I'm sure where there is a will, there is a way, but I don't think the intent is for it to be removable due to the safety/engineering requirements.

    EREV initial release only?

I/We don't know the launch cadence yet as there are still a LOT of moving pieces. I will say this to set expectations. This is a brand new factory that hasn't built any vehicles before. We have to bring everything online gradually to ensure we deliver a high-quality product. The initial ramp-up...

    EREV initial release only?

When Scout was just a small group of people making a business case in 2021, the entire automotive market was saying everything was going BEV by 2030. We built the business case around a BEV-only strategy and announced in 2022 that Scout would be returning. Since then, EV adoption rates in our...

    Driving Sounds

Basically all of it. AVAS, turn signal sounds, warning chimes, etc., etc. We will hold back on most of the actual final vehicle sounds, but the process is pretty cool and there are easter eggs...

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

I'm not so sure. Yes, there will be people who probably never plug it in. But, when you have the ability to go 150 miles with just battery electric and can just plug it in like your cell phone at night, and rinse and repeat without paying for any gas? That's a nice benefit. It is kinda nice...

    Jamie Vondruska On With ROMR

In previous videos/podcasts ROMR had talked quite a bit about EREV and the potential there, especially since they are fans of getting out there offroad/overlanding/boondocking. BEVs are pretty straightforward, but EREV is newer with a lot of questions, so we talked about that a bit more. Plus we...
