  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Charge port at front, passenger side

It would be nice to have it on the front middle or front back for ease of use.. but ya

    Change of Heart?

I'm optimistic but it's crucial that the company is not leapfrogged out of the gate.

    Outlets

I think lightning may be 9.6kw peak but I could be wrong. I love having four in frunk, two in cab, four in bed and 30amp. So many possibilities of what you can do with that.

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

Personally speaking.. I'm not concerned as much with towing. I just don't want to see choosing the harvester as a downgrade in capability for both towing and performance.

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

I asked Grok how the harvester model can match performance of the EV. For the Harvester (range-extended) Scout Terra to match the full BEV version's performance—especially the projected 10,000+ lbs towing, similar acceleration (likely around 3.5-4.5 seconds 0-60 unloaded), and sustained power...

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

I see the argument.. People want a workhorse without sacrifice.. and if it's a true full size vehicle.. that shouldn't be a problem.

Battery only or harvester.. starting to rethink it.

I always plan to charge around 250. I think the Lightning is the best full sized electric truck on the road right now. Let's see what Scout can come up with.

Battery only or harvester.. starting to rethink it.

Yeah the battery is what costs.. I mean I'm willing to pay accordingly to get to the 400 mile plus range

Battery only or harvester.. starting to rethink it.

Obviously I don't mean go take a Silverado EV and remove the battery lol. I'm talking about capacity. If you put a 200 KW battery pack into the lightning for example, I doubt it's going to get the same range as a Silverado but it's going to do very well. Id say 350-375.. maybe 400.

Battery only or harvester.. starting to rethink it.

I can tell you all about testing. I had to send a lot of data to Tesla. And I gave it the best of chances reaching the advertised range.. Even so much I was periodically turning off air conditioning or not running it at all depending on time of year. The end result? It doesn't hit advertised...

Battery only or harvester.. starting to rethink it.

How about take the battery out of a Silverado EVER and put it into Terra

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

I'm very familiar... I've been stranded once and been close many times. I travel with RV cords and adapters. How did this post get derailed?
  13. mastertroll

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Custom lock sounds, intercom speaker like Tesla. Fart

Battery only or harvester.. starting to rethink it.

I didn't realize it was that high. I assumed Tesla was the leader. I'm happy to know that things are moving that direction. I will give one caveat.. numbers on papers and what people can actually achieve are definitely two different things. Like I just saw a chart that says the model 3 got 1...

Battery only or harvester.. starting to rethink it.

Totally agree.. the bar has been raised. Btw.. I charged at Rivian chargers the other day.. they are really good. As good as Tesla. The chart you shared with model 3.. I can't speak to other vehicles but it's hard to believe the Tesla. Lol

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

I think it will succeed if Scout follows a strict set of parameters.
  17. mastertroll

Battery only or harvester.. starting to rethink it.

I'll take a look. I saw a video on the Silverado EV and couldn't believe that it actually got more than what was advertised (that's when I took notice). That really stuck with me especially having range wars with my Tesla. I have experience with three vehicles, Model X/Y and Lighting. I observed...

Battery only or harvester.. starting to rethink it.

I give GM props. I wish the other manufacturers would follow suit

    Suggestions

If the 130kw battery is true spec.. these vehicles will go around 240-280 miles EV range. 350 is not reasonable. Scout will need larger capacity.
