  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Rarely. There have been a few times there was a delay which is aggravating. But, it has gotten better over time with OTA updates.

    Rain/fog Lights in the rear

Of course, this makes me think how useful this could be for deterring tailgaters.

I use phone as a key for both my and my wife's BMWs. My 2026 iX only came with one fob as they said so many people use the phone now. BMW used to require the fob for service. Now there is a service card that stays with the car. I use the fob as back up.

    What was your first job?

As second generation in the equipment dealership, I started sweeping floors, dumping trash, dusting shelves, sorting bins, mowing grass etc. for $3 per hour at about 10 years old.

BYD Shark PHEV Outsells Toyota HiLux in Australia

My friend had his active headlight replaced on his BMW F10 535i (2014). It was $4500. Crazy.

With the help of Gemini. Based on available data, the Rivian R1S drag coefficient is approximately 0.30 to 0.32 in its "Low" or "Lowest" (efficient) ride height setting, while in the "Standard" or "Normal" setting, the is higher. Switching from Standard to Low ride height typically yields an...

Usually you replace the whole thing. Anything can be repaired but at what cost and time? There will inevitably be work around and DIY repairs that come out. LEDs should last 10s of thousands of hours.

Excactly how I use it in the iX.

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Fair point. Completely different duty cycle and environment. Also the relative amount of oil capacity to displacement makes a difference too. I doubt it would have a very large oil pan though due to space constraints. That is unless it is dry sump and then who knows what the limitations are...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

That seems a little low. But I’m basing this on Kubota engine oil change intervals. Some of those are as much as 500 hours now. I can see it being something like 200 hours or once per year.

BYD Shark PHEV Outsells Toyota HiLux in Australia

Unless they suck and have poor support. I’ve had some customers in the past buy cheap Chinese tractors and excavators only to come back to us with horror stories. We will not work on them either. We had one about “run away” in our shop because it had a hydraulic pump leak that was sending...

Well if there is a crucible to test their mettle it’s Australia. Those blokes will put it to the test. If it fails the Shark will not last long down under.

I’m sure that whatever it is, it will be considerably different from a regular vehicle engine. Its accessories package will be way different like the water pump you mentioned. Its accessories package will be optimized for static rpm. @SpaceEVDriver do you have a guess as to what the gallons...
