  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Assuming that everyone that creates a Scout account registers their multiple reservations to the same Scout account, it would be pretty easy to see... And if I was working at Scout and was really worried about "how many cars should I build in year 1 based on reservations", I'd be inclined to...

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

I guess they'll finish building their factory

Ok, for those of you who don't live in Washington state... consider moving along to another forum. This post will not matter. There were two different bills in the Washington legislature last session. One was Senate Bill 5377 and House Bill 1721. I think neither of them made them out of...

I feel like those highway miles would be wasted! I'd like to give my Scout her first miles on the wilds of Washington state!

Does anyone know who was the original author of this bill? Seems like right after election day, we should start a letter writing campaign to the author and co-sponsors to ask them to reintroduce it. There is a part of me that would love to fly down to Charleston, catch a minor league game, eat...

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

They'll announce Cal Raleigh as an honorary brand ambassador along with Governor Ferguson of Washington State saying he is committed to approving Direct to Consumer sales. 🤞

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

++heated/vented seats ++full fold down ++snow One thing I had never seen until I moved to Washington State was "ski-gating"... like, folks will drive up to the ski hill and park, then they'll come back to their cars/trucks at lunch and EOD and set up camp chairs and propane burners to have like...

Huge Element fan! I had a 2003 until it died on the I90 bridge over Mercer Island after towing a small uhaul from DC to Seattle in 2019. Those little guys were awesome for outdoor adventures AND easy parallel parking in the city. Welcome to Seattle Scouts!

    Things to Avoid

The first car I ever had the reverse-chime and the seat-belt warning chime was a 2019 Kia Niro PHEV. The guys at the dealer said they didn't know a way to turn either of them off. Hope Scout matches the optionality you have on your Tesla!

    Things to Avoid

Personally, I wish there was a way to disable the back-up signal on my car. It is so ubiquitous now, I imagine it is some sort of requirement. If there was a way that I could at least control it, that would be better. What if it was the sound of a chainsaw (broom vroom) or a insistent beep (beep...

Is anyone else on here a customer of Seattle City Light, or really into the bi-directional charging stuff? A few years ago, we installed solar panels. As part of the project, we also switched to gas on-demand water hearing, a whole house electric heat pump and got an induction range. We also...

    Higher Range

We generally tend to use the tent-only spots because they are a little easier to get and some of the camp sites we go to don't have ANY electricity at all. But, carrying 240v charging cable does seem like a good idea. I'm actually super-pro the idea that we move to Bring Your Own cable charging...

What goodies have you gotten from a dealer/manufacturer after purchasing a car

I see a lot of SUVs driving around with that look like plastic sleds or stretchers... I'm assuming they are some kind of traction platform that you would put under your wheels in case of mud or snow. I imagine it's less of an issue with EV trucks/suvs. Anyway, I +1 on the binoculars but a...

    Higher Range

I live in Washington state too, and I'm planning on getting the Harvester option. We currently have a 2019 Kia Niro PHEV. It's got 26 miles of range (newer models are 30+) and most days in the city (Seattle) we never use that up before being able to recharge. But the reason I want a Scout is...

What size cup will the frunk's cupholders accommodate?

    Great little vehicle

My point was that Honda did a great job of squeezing a lot of utility into a small space. When I look at some of the reveal videos of the prototypes and scour the product pages, it's clear that Scout has really nailed the design to bring us something truly special. No, Traveler and Terra are...

    Great little vehicle

I know there are probably folks on this forum that will think I'm crazy, but I used to have a 2003 Honda Element. I know they were funny looking, didn't have much clearance, and those rear passenger doors were super annoying. But! The cargo space was amazingly flexible for such a pint size car...

Yes, definitely. For some reason, though, I've spent the last few days getting into all the YouTube videos that came out six or seven months ago. It's like my excitement level just keeps getting higher and I keep looking for new nuggets and details... so a little but of obsession at this point...

Based in Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle. Super psyched to get a Traveler. My focus is on the ability to confidently travel over a lot of the Fire Service roads; to climb over snowy mountain passes in winter, and to maybe integrate with my home solar/battery to supplement my home...
