    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

    I have no interest in a huge battery nor a slide-in battery. And certainly no interest in any kind of fossil fuel engine-run generator. I would enjoy having a battery in a travel trailer that could hook into the system via a cable on the trailer and to be able to provide trailer battery power...

    I keep one in the bed and one in the cab. But not in the frunk. For access reasons. A fire extinguisher isn't likely to put out a major car fire, but it can put out other kinds of fires. I've used it to suppress small camp fires, rv fires, etc.

    I store all my emergency equipment (except fire extinguisher) in the frunk. Cold weather gear, charging stuff, air compressor, tools, etc. When we go camping, I might move some of that around so I can store things that I don’t want to get dusty but aren’t going in the cabin.

    An OEM removable battery pack would cost a minimum of $10k and likely up to $15k-$20k, the same as the Harvester (I’m guessing). Brand-T promised such a thing for the dumpster, but it failed to materialize. Scout would sell a dozen of them and would never make back the engineering investment...

    Kubota is engineering for longevity and regular use. Westinghouse’s big box store generators are for people who will use it two or three times in its lifetime.

    But even successful planning and training only lead to precision dates when there are no external factors. An aluminum fire your supplier's factories isn't in your control. On-off-on-off-random tariffs aren't in your control.

    People are already doing it. But you have to spec out the generator so it provides low noise power as most EVSEs won't work with dirty power from cheap generators. I'm not sure why an automobile manufacturer would go into that business if they weren't already there. I guess you could consider...

    Everywhere in Mass is within 50 miles of at least one and usually more than one DCFC station. And there are hundreds and hundreds of L2 stations. It's one of the best-covered states. I'd be comfortable with an old Leaf with only 67 miles range as my only vehicle in Mass...

    It’s what every manufacturer does and has been doing for a long, long time. It’s nearly impossible to precisely predict when production and delivery will happen in a venture like this, even for the well-established manufacturers.
