  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I think they are also forgetting that VW is keeping them afloat through the Scout partnership and infusing billions into their company.

Highly recommend Power Stop brake kits from Amazon. I have installed around 10 sets on personal and family members' vehicles. Night and day over stock, quiet, and last a long time if they are bedded properly after the install.

The Rivian sub Reddit seems to be celebrating this story for some reason. Any concerns about authenticity of sources are downvoted.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

I will buy a second Scout if my first gen model got better over time, and more features being added will also help the vehicle retain monetary value over time if I decided to trade it in or sell it later on. Respectfully, iPhones all end up becoming E-Waste eventually so I dont really like...

I am not sure if this has been discussed before, but do y'all think Scouts will support pass thru power? Let's say I go to an Enduro race with a Stark Varg EX electric dirt bike, and have a BEV Scout Terra parked in an RV parking spot with a 30a outlet. Could I leave the Terra plugged in all...

I remember the AAM announcement, but could swear it was only the rear that was confirmed initially. I’ll have to dig into previous screenshots on my computer when I get back to work. Those articles are always being edited and several have changed a few times.

Well that's not very American of them. lol So it sounds like they absorbed a British company named GKN and rebranded to honor their founder, David Dauch.

Looks like they have revised some of the language in the FAQ section of the website. Now it is showing both drive units will be supplied by AAM. Previously it was only the rear axle if I am not mistaken.

We can compromise by putting lead back in gasoline.

If you take this route I highly recommend the Slinky kit. Its pricey but articulation and ride quality are unrivaled. They do offer heavy spring rates. Some folks that have done 6BT and 4BT Cummins swaps have used them.

I think Icon will as well. They have done a few electric converted restomods, though the electric conversion isn't listed. They are a top notch outfit. They tried to recruit me as a project manager some years ago, but my ex wife didnt want to relocate to California. Probably one of my...

Have they ridden in a 60 series? The leaf springs... are pretty rough. Especially if you are primarily using it off pavement. The coil springs on the 80 series made for a more comfortable ride than my 100 series had. IMO an 80 series with the round headlight conversion kit is the kitties...

You can import either of those with left hand drive from Spain in great condition for a pretty reasonable price. Well, at least when the trade tantrums stop... The FZJ80 platform is very robust and has a more spacious interior in my experience.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

Rode (more like flew up) most of those a few years ago on my Norden 901. Some of those switchbacks will be pretty interesting with the wheelbase on the Traveler.

Hope you still hang out here. Im sure you'll be proud to know you planted this seed and it grew enough to finally wear me down. Changed my Terra reservation this morning to fully BEV. The virtually zero maintenance aspect appealed to my lazy sensibilities. I also dont want my towing...

I would attribute my hangups about it to our notoriously predatory local Toyota dealership. Their service department is also awful and after my Lemon experience I’d never trust them to handle warranty work again. They were also selling TRD Pro Sequoias for $112k during COVID. They will never...

The upcoming Gemini integration will give you the ability to change settings with your voice. There is a pretty wild amount of integration coming with it if you watch their tech demo about the next generation of their in house chipset. "Im cold" will be enough for it to adjust the temp and turn...

The haptic wheels seem to be more integrated into the controls than the standard buttons on the R1S and R1T. At least from the videos I’ve seen, including that one.
