  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

It's definitely not worth buying a new Toyota.

I agree about the war on buttons, but this seems to be the best compromise since you can change climate control settings via the haptic scroll wheels instead of using a screen. So there are actually more control Via "buttons" with that new steering wheel than there were previously.

Rivian needs to offer the R2 steering wheel as an upgrade kit to the R1S and R1T

Idk man. Toyota people are just different. They will wait a year for a car with colors they don’t like, and accept whatever price the dealer is asking for it. Im sure people will nurse an older car along for years to wait it out.

I have heard that it's still common to have a 6-18 month waitlist for certain vehicles and configurations at Toyota dealerships.

I guess everyone has their own idea of how it should look, but I like the second one and the way they did the rear window.

As a mechanic, I rarely saw major issues with Nissans that weren't caused by outright neglect, like going 12k miles without changing the oil or busting the oil pan on curbs and running it dry. They just had a cheap fit and finish that I didnt like, and had small issues that added up like...

It sounds like the first models will be a Launch Edition and the $45k model wont launch until 6-12 months after initial launch of the R2. Most likely Tri Motor variants with higher trims. Sucks for early adopters though because Rivian will not have their new in house control module available...

Yet despite Chinas ability to mass produce affordable EVs, EREV sales are exploding there. It's interesting how different markets behave.

3,500 miles in 3 months. Loving this little donkey. I’ve mastered 70mph power wheelies, and gotten extremely comfortable on it after a 2 years hiatus from riding. This time in the saddle has sparked some memories and dreams I had when I first watched The Long Way Round and bought my first...
